What Do You Do If You Found Out Your Ex Was...

...a convicted child molester?

In 1997, when I lived in Minneapolis, and then St. Paul, I dated a slightly older guy. He was about 51, and I was around 29. Quite a diff, but at the time, it seemed to work. Looking back, I could have done a LOT damn better.

But it didn't last long. He told me at one point, near the end of it all, that he was a convicted child molester. !!!! What teh FUCK?! I told the other house mates (he had a huge house and rented out the other rooms in the house), and they all practically fled within a month's time. I left within that time period. I only talked to him once or twice since then, and it was online only.

Tonight I decided to see if I could find him on Facebook or something, just to see what the old codger looked like. I didn't find him there, but I did find him here.

I about hurled. I can't believe he went BACK to prison for that shit, and ....well, that he did it again, at all. I believe that some offenders can be truly rehabilitated, but this guy is chronic! It's the one regret I have in life - dating this guy for even the short time I did. It was cleansing to write about all this in my book, and get it out, and off, of me.

I'm shocked, but I'm not, at this update.

I'd cut it off. If you can't use it correctly, you shouldn't have it!

Well, you couldn't have really known about it prior to him telling you about it. Weird and very ugly things happen sometimes.

There's not much more you could have done. You learned, you left. And unless you have some inkling of stuff he did for which he hasn't been held accountable, you have no reason for regret here. Move on.

I don't know the process of getting a letter to someone in prison or if you even could, but why not write him a letter telling him how disgusted with him you are? It's about the only thing I can think of that you could "do to him," and it may make you feel better knowing that not only did you get it off your chest, but he knows how you feel about it as well.

I'm not really looking to tell him anything, or do anything to him. I've not seen him in person since 1997 when I left St. Paul to come to New York. I've only said a passing "fuck you" to him in 1998 the couple of times I saw him online. I think my biggest "WTF" moment was finding that he repeated his offense on children again, and served time for it. He seems to be a higher risk release, as noted on the site.

Just looking at his face, I can see the evil on him. That ain't the face of a happy or free man. He's in bondage to something bigger than himself, and he'll die that way probably. I think that's enough for me.

You think someone without a dick can't molest a child?

exactly. The problem is in someone s psyche, not their genitals.

Sounds like you may have already made "peace" (as much as possible) with the situation. I don't think you or anyone else will ever have to worry about seeing this guy on the streets again, him being a repeat child molester. Sounds like its time for you to move on.....

He actually lives adjacent to an elementary school (Bruce Vento Learning Center & Elementary School). You can see it from the front porch of his house.

I think the ISR means he's under a closer scrutiny, probably reports to an officer more often, and has surprise visits more often. I don't know if the neighbors are aware of his status or not at this point. Surely word spreads. He lived in that house while still married to his wife. When she found out about his shenanigans, she divorced him. They were divorced by the time I lived there. I THINK he has a daughter, who rarely speaks to him.

When I lived at the house, I was digging through the computer and found child porn. And I'm not talking naked pics, I'm talking about 5 years olds engaging in things with other 5 year olds than only adults should be doing - and they were being prodded on by an adult. I was physically sick when I saw it. I found that AFTER he told me about his past. It was then that I told the other house mates, and everyone fled. I saved the stuff on a few floppy disks. My plan was to leave, an call the police, and tell them what he was doing, and where to find the disks in the house that I had hidden. I never did that. I was just needing to get the hell out of there. It seems it all caught up to him anyway.

Wait a minute . . . you went through the trouble of saving all this porn on disks AFTER finding out he was a pedophile with the "plan" to contact the police yet you didn't do anything with it??? whofarted If he was already a convicted pedophile he would've been in violation of his parole/probation by merely possessing child porn and would've hopefully been put back in jail.

Yeah, it may have caught up with him eventually but I wonder how many kids were unnecessarily molested since '97 that didn't need to be if you had contacted the police with this evidence.
