Take care of yourself. My boss is definitely a good guy and cares, but he also wants to make sure the rest of his staff stays well. Its been a bad year for us and I feel really bad about being sick...YET AGAIN. Well, at least between having an understanding boss and national health care in your country, he probably wants to keep your sick self out of the office so you can come back all bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Here in the USA, you have too many asshole bosses and nitpicky supervisors who give you the 9th degree when you call in sick even though you are sneezing like crazy and coughing up tons of mucus. Well at least most were that way until the H1N1 virus began spreading; then they took the opposite position and threatened to have you quarrantined if you even had a slight cough. I'm surprised we haven't had a serious pandemic in this country considering how a lot of companies don't offer their employees decent health coverage and insist on people coming to work even when they are sick, at some points even threatening to fire people if they don't come in to work. But keep your head up, get some rest, and feel better soon.

It won't do to spread it around the workplace, and surely you wouldn't be as productive if you're not feeling 100%. I know I'm not anyways. [Edited 2/23/10 15:35pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

When you do call in sick it seems the next day @ work you're on trial and everyone is giving you the stink eye thinking you were faking it. Then when you come in feeling ill you get shit for bring it to everyone else.
Always seesm like a no win situation.

JustErin said: So I've been sick since last Thursday and I finally took yesterday off (after ultimately getting no better this weekend). I'm feeling a bit better, still a bit sick but I decided I better get my ass back to work today.
The thing is, I've been getting really sick a lot lately and I feel awful about missing work. I hate trying to come back and catch up, missing deadlines and just feel like I am letting my work down for not being there. Plus I have a 4 year old who picks everything from school and daycare and therefore gets sick a lot too so I need to take time off to care for him. Right there is more time missed. Well, I got a 20 minute lecture from my boss about coming in sick when he called in and I couldn't deal with it so I burst out in tears. Then whenever anyone asked if I was ok, I cried some more. Anyway, I was sent home until Thursday...damn, if I am not better by then...I think I'll have an aneurysm from stress. Ugh. Not a good day at all. See, I am human, I do feel emotions.

So great morning so far. So my mother is here to help with Miles. First she locks her keys in the van, then she gets my car stuck while trying to move it around hers. Stuck with literally 4 inches between vehicles on an icy steep driveway. So she walks Miles to school while I spend an hour digging my car out and gingerly getting it away from hers. Yes, I am definitely having a great day of rest so far.
Ugh. | |

Bitch, fix yourself a hot rum with lemon, sliced hot red chilis (or some hot chili flakes), 2 tbsp honey, and linden tea shut the f*** up and take your ass to bed..after you put the kid to down -) of course . In all seriousness, have a hot bath or shower, put on some workout clothes, put the baby to bed, and mix up that concoction of rum, tea, lemon, honey, and chili. You'll sweat through the night like you're in an Indian sweat lodge, and will have at least worked a few of the toxins out of your body so you can be quasi-functional 24 hours afterwards... If you don't do it I will have an orger choke you
