The org is an outlet for sarcasm and facetiousness sometimes when I've a little more in me than can fit in my offline life. That's just one part of it though. I wouldn't say I come here because I'm lonely. The org is just one outlet, one way I socialize, alongside others. There's lots of time in a day.

but you spend a lot of time here, too. do you think that's just casual interaction (And I'm not trying to judge you, I don't assume everyone is like me, and I don't care if someone wants to spend their entire life here)?

I see it as something like the way i watch TV. Noting wrong with it, but when I am slightly afraid of the silence of turning off the TV, maybe it's not just entertainment anymore.

Yes, there are times when I take a break or don't post much, but most days I'm here a LOT. The thing is, I don't really turn my computer off if I'm home, so the org is nearly always open. I just come and go along with doing all the other stuff I'm doing. I know I'd miss the org if I stopped coming here for a week or more, so I'm not sure what that means. I used to org when bored and home alone, for sure, but these days not so much. It's probably replaced TV in many ways, as I'm sure the internet in general has for many people, who find they watch less TV now and spend more time on the net.

I definitely posted more during my single times. Probably just because I was bored, not necessarily lonely.

I think it's interesting to see couples who org. I don't know if I could write quite the same if my S.O. was here, too. Not that I am terribly different here as IRL, but maybe I feel just a little freer to say certain things [in the privacy of the internet lol]

that's understandable. nod

Erin and I don't really hide much with our personality's, so we don't worry much about what is said. I only get a little embarrassed when she gives a little too much bedroom detail.

I think these distractions block the voices sometimes (though this place also strangely provides an outlet for them as well). I am trying to listen to them more these days after a few years of trying to suppress them.

never suppress the voices - you never know when you'll really need to talk to someone and no one else is around nod

I'd like to be able to come & go more. I get very focused. That is part of why the TV is a problem for me, too, I can't ignore it.

I didn't really do it on purpose, but I began to realize recently that there was always some outside stimulus going on in my life, not the silence where my own thoughts can emerge.

hearing voices in your head is no big deal. (I honestly DO hear them)

When you start ARGUING with those voices, well now, that's a horse of a different color. confused

no, like, different voices. Lately they are just single words. I hear them clear as day as if someone were in the same room as me. Nothing crazy or scary, just...well...words.

I hear my own voice, personally. Maybe I hear other noises mixed in, but I hear a lot of my own voice, like thousands of me talking at once.

My personal life has little to do with me being on the org.

I can be heavily involved and surrounded by friends and at a nightclub, and I'll log onto my phone and post some shit. falloff

It's hard to explain to folks, but I don't watch T.V. This is my entertainment. Some people watch T.V. for hours, regardless of their own personal lives.

You know a person can be lonely surrounded by people. I think people can have a lot of acquaintances. But I've noticed..except with the people I'm really close to.. it's about having fun.. or I dunno.. nothing very deep. People just keep things light.

Sometimes you can have some honest discussions on the internet more so than in real life.

Like in P&R.. I can't have those "raw" types of discussions with my friends or family--except maybe my husband and my best girlfriend. I think in real life, it's really hard to have discussions about race, politics.. religion lol

I think, too, you can share your fears.. ask questions.. I dunno.. not be judged so much or if you are.. well, it doesn't matter anyway. Sometimes I wonder if a person can be more real on the internet in certain situations.

I hate to say this but in real life... I sometimes think it's really difficult to handle certain topics which is a shame, actually. People get all offended..
They do here, too, but.. you can still read different people's thoughts and ideas on different subjects

I've noticed here, people talk about everything..
