I go out alone all the time.
Made a lot of nice friends that way. I even take vacations alone. The longest one so far was 1 month in Honolulu. I have a lot of friends there now but I can be alone when I need to be. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

I'm sure I don't even know the half of it, she doesn't tell me details because she knows I'm not interested in that sort of thing. I've had other girl friends who have had one night stands or gone out with the intent of hooking up (whether that be sex or just making out) but she's definitely my most "outgoing" friend in that way. Or at least she was. She's engaged now. And I should also say that most of the other girl friends are married with kids now and aren't interested in that anymore, either.
In response to the original question. I would never go to a club alone. I will go to a bar alone only if I am going to meet someone, or see a band. I don't mind getting there before my friend and ordering a drink at the bar by myself, but I don't really like seeing a band by myself because guys hit on me a lot and it's annoying; AND they get pissy when I shoot them down.
