Still in the box, never been opened! eBay! I have to admit, I'd love to make some quilts myself. And if I could learn to hem my own pants, that would be money in the bank. We're keeping that Singer!

I don't have much time to sew now as much as I used to, but I still make my own clothes when I can't find a certain style that I want. I still do alterations too. I'm kicking my own ass right now for not coming up with the "snuggie" idea and becoming filthy rich. Wow! You, Genesia and Acrylic are my current heroes.

I used to sew! I would pick-out really cool fabric.. and then these very easy Vogue patterns..
But I was never very good.. My mom used to sew for me all the time... costumes.. clothes. You name it. I'd like to get back into sewing.. for house decorating more than anything else! You see all these home improvement shows and that's what they do! Plus my sister-in-law sews.. and she's a WONDERFUL interior decorator! She's not trained or anything.. but that girl can decorate a house! She just very talented.. I have this really old sewing maching I got from my hubby's mom! LOL It's a portable. I keep threatening to.. use it!

I love sewing - makes up for my useless cooking skills!
I like to get creative with fabric I’ve sewn outfits for myself and fancy dress outfits for my kids and stuff for their school concerts. I don’t even use patterns. But I can’t do curtains - I can never get them straight enough I own a 30 year old singer machine that I got at a garage sale for $15 , so I do most of the stuff by hand.

My Mother is a designer/seamstress. Not as a profession but as a hobby, to make her own clothes sometimes, upholster rooms and furniture, and to help people by creating gorgeous wedding and prom dresses. She has taught me a lot, but I'm still learning. I've made little clothes for some of my stuffed animals, and used to take red or black fabric and make MJ right-armbands for some of my longsleeve shirts. As a project last night, I fixed the waist band in a pair of my stirrup pants, by sewing in a new strand of elastic. My Mother can do that in 30 minutes, but it took me about 2 hours. I got the job done though, and I'm going to keep practicing. My next step is to learn sewing machines. Very exciting. You could try this; it's like hemming without hemming: Stitch Witchery Thanks. I'll look into this. Stitch Witchery works great. And if you don't have a blind hem stitch on your machine, it'll actually give a nicer finish. One caution: it isn't as durable as a stitched hem. So if you ever wash the curtains, you'll probably have to redo the hem. But that's not a big deal.[code] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. I can hand sew, but I am not really sure how to use my machine. I have a book that I'm reading to learn how to use it, but I'm afraid to try things out cause I don't want to break it If you will, so will I

That should sum up my sewing abilities.

I wish I was better than I am . I have so many creative ideas, but not everything turns out as nice as I would want it to . For many years my ex's mother helped me, now I am depending on my own sewing abilities . With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I’ve been thinking about taking a class to get myself back into the swing of things. I really should… I looked at your post and I swear that is all I saw! I need to get laid.

I was thinking of buying a basic sewing machine but I don't know what kind I need. I only want it for hemming and other small tasks. Any suggestions for an easy to use, resonably priced machine for a beginner??? Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
