Help me name my Baby Girl!

Hey guys, Im struggling trying to name my baby girl due April 23rd. I would love some creative suggestions.

So far, were stuck on Emily Jaymes Schmidt (Jaymes is in honor of my grandfather, stepfather and her brothers middle name)

I dont want something too common, but not to weird either. This is my first child, so be gentle haha

Thanks in advance!

Emily Jaymes Schmidt doesn't sound bad.
It's not too common; especially the Jaymes for a female.
It's nice. smile

I named my daughter Carnasia Ivana-Núr Shabazz.
I'm in no position to name anyone else's kids. lol

I like the name Emily, and I love how you added Jaymes for different family members. I would so go with it.

My daughter named her kids:

Seyhan Olivia Christine (Seyhan for my daughter's grandmother, Olivia because she liked it, and Christine for her husband's Mother)

Zoey Cirilo Jaylee (Zoey because she liked it, Cirilo is my Father's name, and Jaylee, in memory of her husband's Father who recently passed away.)

Olivia isn't after ME?! hmph! exclaim

I like Lola and Lucy. I wanted to call my little girl one of those but people put me off with comments like 'Lucy-lastic' and said that Lola sounded like a stripper (sorry if any of you are called Lola)

In the end we went with Cody. It was the only name we could agree on. It's not common at all in England. Her middle name is May.

How about something with the accent not on the first syllable (so it has a more interesting rhythm). Something like Amanda or Miranda or Elizabeth or Rebecca or Olivia or Patricia or Teresa or Renee or...you get the picture.

What about Emilie or Amelie instead of the usual Emily?

I think Emily is kinda prim and old-fashioned, personally. And cuz it's three-syllable people are gonna end up calling her "Em", which isn't the most charming nickname.

Emma, maybe?

"Emilie" sounds the same and just presents a lifetime of spelling nightmares.

"Amelie", however, is cool. thumbs up!

Our nieces name is Amelie. thumbs up!

Personally, I like the name Erin for a girl. Though we had a girls name picked just in case. Samaya would have been her first name, we never got a far as a middle name before we had our sexing scan and found out it was a boy.

I like "Erin" too. And "Samaya", who would have ended up being called "Sam", which I've always found charming for girls.

That would have been my first choice of a name for a girl as I love the meaning of it. But pronounced in German.

Yes, we liked that too for a couple reasons. My moms name is Sandy but her sister always called (calls) her Sam.
Since we were married in Sri Lanka, we picked a Sinhalese name meaning peace.
I guess Samaya was not meant to be.

I really like the name Amelie, now that I think about it it may be my new favourite name for a girl hmmm. But it's a French name, no? Do English speaking people know how to pronounce it?

Yes, because of the movie. lol

It's definitely not a common name in the states. In an urban area, I don't think people would blink, but if she grows up in a corn state people are gonna think it's weird.

Ahhh, right, you're Canadian. I think you're average unilingual podunk American would try to pronounce "Emilie" as "Uh-meel".

Yeah...if there's any chance of folks saying "Emily" or "Amily," rather than Ah-meh-lie, you don't want to go there. lol

After reading your post I realized you may have already chosen a name. Ever consider naming her "Babygirl" (insert last name her). It's different but not too far out there.

Joni! biggrin (That's my name -- I used to HATE it when I was younger, but I don't mind it now. It's uncommon but not *weird*. I do, however, hate it when people misspell it as Joanie or shorten it to Joan, which is an old lady's name.)
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
