VOLKSWAGEN

VW EOS- I love how versatile it is. It almost takes on a different style with the top down. It's not too big either. I hate driving big cars.

My dad used to have a neon yellow-green convertible Beetle (the obsolete kind). I wanted it to be my first car so bad, but it was a stick shift. He said I could barely drive an automatic, so that was out. lol I have been in love with VWs since childhood. I'm still eying a Jetta since the EOS is out of my budget for now.

I've read more than once that the EOS is a great mid-range hardtop convertible... solid build...

and the original Beetle is NOT obsolete... hmph!

Nice one, but no VW will ever come close to the beauty of the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia;

It´s actually just an updated version of the Beetle, the first series even had the same engine as the Beetle.
They stopped making them in 1974.

My mom had a little red Karmann Ghia when I was a kid. The backseat was tiny!
It's what you make it.

I have a 93 vw cabriolet i bought new ...

i adore it . even tho it is a chick car ... it is like burgundy in color and has 200,000 + miles on it ...

it was built at the Karmann facility in Germany ...i do believe ...

my year was the last yr they made them that looked like the Rabbits ...

i always liked that style - but i have to say - i had a 91 Jetta that i hated ... i bought it new and had numerous problems and issues with it ...

^^^ Overall, Jettas are well built, right? I've heard they were some of the safest cars out there. Really good crash test ratings too. I'm looking for a safe car that's not too expensive. My current car is on it's last legs.

I agree, those Khias are also cute.

I love older cars w/ that paint job.

not to say u are wrong - but i think Porsche is owned by a family and VW is a %owner .... they dont own porsche outright but there is some relationship ... like 35% ownership ?

been a while since i looked and the VW website wasnt clear and did NOT mention Porsche as one of their companies (it did mention bentley , audi, lamborghini and others )

Yeah well they all share parts technology materials and the same over all quality.
And its even more evident in Porsche now than ever.

I will just be glad when Porsche gets of them shitty ass LED lights in the front. they look so aftermarket.

In August 2009, Porsche SE and Volkswagen Group reached an agreement that Volkswagen AG and Porsche AG would merge in 2011

On 26 March 2007, after the European Union moved against a German law that protected Volkswagen Group from takeovers,[21] Porsche took its holding to 30.9 percent, triggering a takeover bid under German law. Porsche formally announced in a press statement that it did not intend to take over Volkswagen Group, setting its offer price at the lowest possible legal value, but intended the move to avoid a competitor taking a large stake, or to stop hedge funds dismantling Volkswagen Group, which is Porsche's most important partner.[22] On 3 March 2008, Porsche announced that it has decided to increase its Volkswagen AG stake up to 51 percent, which would be completed before the end of the year. This was announced just hours after VWAG declared it would take a majority stake in the Swedish truck and engine maker Scania

I had no idea Bentley was apart of the VW family. Out of those companies, I really only like VWs and Audis. I've never been crazy about Lambos and Porsches. The Boxster Spyders are alright. I wouldn't drop that much $$$ on one though.
