Another Johnart piece goes international... I recently commissioned a painting from our own artiste extraordinaire. It was a joint anniversary present for my wife/birthday present for my kid. I wanted something very simple, with just a few specs: coffee palette, roughly 2' x 3', a brown-skinned female somewhere in the composition, and some incorporation of French text (we're a bunch of pathetic Francophiles in these parts ). Beyond that, it was all up to his inspiration.
Well, John worked his magic, and here's what he graced us with in the post just yesterday... (This is John's own studio shot, but I may add photos once I mount the painting, under light, on my wall.) We all love it! And our downstairs neighbor from Paris has been all goo goo-eyed over it since it arrived! (FYI, John: You may soon be hit by a stream of odd Chanel-scented fan mail in vaguely intelligible Franglais. ) ...Anyway, I wanted to photowhore the piece and offer another public moment of praise to Johnart. Thank you so much for sharing your gift! [Edited 2/13/10 9:56am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I absolutely adore that the mom's one arm is cradling and protecting her child, and the other is behind her, supporting her.
It's beautiful. | |
