iPhone and text message troubles

I've been looking for answers but can't seem to find any anywhere so I ask you intelligent people in the know.

I recently got the new iPhone and wanted to text people my new number. I happened to click on the wrong "button" and exited the message app. When I went back the message I had written was not there. Is there no folder for saved messages or drafts and does the phone not automatically save unfinished messages? It's so frustrating that an advanced phone like that doesn't seem to have some basic functions!! mad

falloff I am determined to be part of the Apple cult to feel what it's like. Only those of the outside have spoken badly of it. Or does the phone send out some dangerous radiations that mess with your brain?

Ouch.

Well, apart from advocating Blackberry, do you or anyone have an answer to my initial question?

The message should still be there. It was when I just tried it. I started composing a message to a friend, then exited. When I returned to my messages with that friend, what I typed was still there. You can even go to other conversations and come back without losing it. shrug

Great. I tried typing a new one and exited, went back and....there it was. Honestly, that did NOT happen the first 5 times I tried that. I think my phone is having a laugh mad

I hate to jack this thread but, seriously?

I've been thinking about going to the dark side and getting an iPhone. I know 3 close friends/cousins that love theirs.

So it sounds like those with the iPhone / AT&T plan are happy .

I as well am thinking about going over to the dark side when my contract with Verizon expires soon. Im tired of toting around my iPod Touch and my cell phone. I love my Touch and would love 3G on my iPhone , but of course id have to get hit with the $30 a month data plan. I want to keep my monthly cell phone plan out of the triple digits , with this switch Id be coming dangerously close. I was happy to see the iPhones have come down alot in price ($99, $199, $299)

So I'll probably take the plunge soon , unless someone out there has any iPhone / AT&T horror stories. smile

I just found out that to text people I have to include their area code in my contacts also or else it wont go through.

If iPhone people have had bad experiences they won't share them with anyone. That's the deal when joining the cult with the mighty Steve Jobs.

Bun't don't tell anyone that I told you shhh

My only issue so far is battery life. Ughhhh. Really bad.
Also, I had a glitch in mine a day after I bought it. I took it to AT&T and they said they couldn't do anything about it. They said I had to take it to the Apple store. I did, they fixed it in around 5 mintues. I guess there's an app glitch that's been happening to a bunch of iPhones.
