For places like Dallas we don't have snow tires, much snow removal equipment, or even snow shovels, so it has a huge impact on us. Twelve inches of snow has NEVER happened here so that shit shut us down. So it's not about being a it's about no one being prepared to deal with it cuz it's just not part of our normal climate.

We usually see it once or twice a year here and it's gone but it's always cold here during the winter. Already had it twice and are just halfway through February. [Edited 2/15/10 9:46am] Like I've been saying, I've been in Texas 30 years and we MIGHT get 1-2 inches twice a year and the next day it'll be 70. This winter, we got cold in October and snow in November and Xmas Eve. I ain't never seen that here and then 12.5 inches in one day last week. This has been our coldest winter in decades so a lot of people don't even have really heavy coats cuz it's usually in the 60s and up to 80s is common in the winter here. This shit SUCKS!!! Thank God it'll be in the 60s this week.

Dammitt, my boss, who is originally from Boston, made me go to work Friday. She didn't give a damn about all that snow being on the ground, she told me she was there and for me to come in too. Andy is a four letter word.

My friend Darryle just came up from Atlanta last night. He and his family moved down there a few years ago.
He said they went up in the attic and pulled out the kids' sleds from when they lived in NJ. They were the most popular house on the block! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Seems Old Man Winter is without his sense of direction this year: The more northerly you go, seems there are many places that have been oddly snowless. Ontario snowfall is well below average this year, and Toronto is headed toward breaking a record for such a mild winter. It already has been the first winter in 162 years that we had no snow through November -- and by that time, parts of Texas already were white. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
