PHOTOHO YOUR SNOW DAY . . . First, we had snow on Xmas Eve, then I had my run in with Nene, and now THIS! For real, the end is nigh, ya'll better get right cuz Mother Nature is mad at ya'll!
Thirty years I've lived in North and Central Texas, 3-0, and I've nevah seent it snow like this. I've been saying this is the coldest, wettest winter evah but this shit just got ridiculous! It snowed today for 16 hours straight and we got more than 7 inches I know that ain't shit to a lot of you guys, but this is really historic 'round these parts. I hope this ain't gon' fuck with All Star weekend. I wanna be chillin' in South Beach righ NOW! Here's what it was like here, how's it lookin' in your neck o' the woods?

I have a few other pics that I haven't already posted, but they're no better than the ones in the major snow storm thread. Hope the snow doesn't shut anything down over there like it did here...not that I minded, but I'm sure most people think it sucks.

Lots of cancelled flights, no school tomorrow cuz the shit's freezing overnight, etc. Another day I'm thankful that I work at home and can roll over and go back to sleep. But this was the worst weekend possible since the city is expecting more than 300,000 visitors for All Star weekend.

Here is a vid from our balcony from yesterday afternoon. It snowed all day, Central Park got about 10 inches, I think. A lot of it has melted today, but the street corners and side streets are still pretty messy/slushy.

It was up to my knees when I went out- before it had stopped. No school for 2 days... back to work tomorrow, but then we have Presidents' Day off. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Born in Boston and lived there until about 11, so I was just wondering. Of course, being only 11, it's not like I got around the city a lot anyway. [Edited 2/11/10 19:25pm]

. [Edited 2/11/10 19:04pm] Dang. I was talking to my homegirl in Harlem and she said today was really light. Yeah, today was fine. It was yesterday that was messy. My office closed and I had an unexpected snow day. Personally, I didn't think it was that bad yesterday and wouldn't have minded getting some shit done at work; but then I don't drive and our apartment building super has to shovel everything so I have it pretty easy. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. I couldn't get off my street. It's a side street, so it wasn't plowed till this morning. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

The zoo always had an escapee I looked forward to seeing running the streets, ostrich, gorilla, wild turkeys, a two humped camel, a wolf and I even caught a peacock and brought it back myself. Now they have tigers and lions

Whenever I say that people usually say "where's that?". It's beside West Roxbury. Orange line from Forest Hills goes right through it on the way toward Dedham.
