Old Movie Buffs 11:00 Central Time / TCM (cable)
Katherine Hepburn & Rossano Brazzi "Summertime" (1955) * * * * Katherine stars as an American tourist who finds love in Venice. IIRC, this film was directed by David Lean. It's fabulous.
A bit of trivia: in the scene in which Hepburn is taking photos and falls into the canal, she got a terrible infection in her eye from the canal water. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |
