HamsterHuey wishes PRB lived close... ... so they could do book swaps.
My previous read book; Ursula Le Guin's "Gifts" First in a series of three books called "Chronicles of the Western Shore". I just read the first one and I loved it. It reminds me of the books written by Dutch young adult writer Thea Beckman, who wrote amazing historical books about young kids in history in extraordinary situations. Le Guin is a fantasy writer, though. Ursula Le Guin is in her 90s and I have loved her, ever since reading her Earthsea trilogy, which she later expanded on. Her stories are told as storytellers would spin their tales, giving little detail, but enough so your own mind interacts with it, giving shape to characters and places. "Gifts" centers on two kids growing up in a hard to reach mountain area, where centuries of curious capabilities have shaped how people treat each other. These capabilities, gifts, range from being to able to call animals to you or to bend bones; these gifts have shaped generation upon generation of mountain people, who made grievances something that decides people's lives. This book reads like a tale and those books I probably love best. If you haven't already read it, I recommend it. >>

you had me worried there for a moment last grown up book i finished was Zero Option by David Rollins Based on the downing in the 80's of a korean airliner over russian airspace. Bit slow in the middle (or maybe it was coz i was busy), but once it picked up speed i couldnt put it down. from his website: It's a story based on the shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, a 747 with 269 passengers and crew aboard, off Sakhalin Island by the Soviet Union in 1983. The story spans roughly thirty years and comes to a climax shortly before the US Presidential elections in 2012. It’s pretty tough in places and names a few names. If I get a dose of Polonium through the mail, you’ll know why He has also done a series of books with the character Special Agent Vin Cooper, who is in the Airforce, but hates to fly...is getting over a messy divorce, oh, and he has a killer of a toothache...bear with a sore head is an understatement. not the kind of guy youd want on any case...unless you dont want it solved. i guess they forgot to mention the last bit to Cooper http://www.davidrollins.net/ [Edited 2/9/10 3:44am] seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

I wish she lived closer for many reasons.
One of them would be to eat chocolate together. I was thinking of her today...picking out a B-day card for her. Now I need to get it to her on time.

I'll take any and all things chocolate, I currently prefer Dove's Milk Chocolate but I miss the European styles... even the different varieties based on country (Dutch is gooood...) But give me white "chocolate" and I'll eat it (especially with crisps ) A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

I have a bad cold AND since a co-worker of mine has not been here for 2 days because she's "sick" (I know for a fact that she is not), I'm going to leave. I think I've called in sick 1 time in the past 5 years. MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop!
