Cable Service - What's Yours

So I'm moving in 20 days (WOOHOO), and the new town home comes with DirectTV. I've been a Time Warner customer for years, and like the package I have with them. I'm leary of Dish Network and what they offer. I know I'm in a comfort zone, but I figured I'd ask who has what service, if they like it or not, and if you switched from one to another...why? I worry about not getting a signal during a storm or cloudy weather. I don't know how many HD channels they have vs our Time Warner the area.

What do you have, and how do you like it? Thoughts?

Comcast. I am not satisfied with it. They did a shitty job connecting it and at times it kind of goes out and cuts in for half a second and goes out again. Keeps doing that til you turn off the TV and turn it back on.

Comcast Triple-Play package. mad
I'm not thrilled. Sometimes I can't connect to the Internet, and the phone service sucks. I guess the cable isn't so bad, but the overall package is so damn expensive.

Like Fauxreal, I had connection problems and they had to come back. doh!

verizon fios...cable through the phone company. We had cablevision but they had a monopoly and kept upping their prices.

I have Time Warner high speed internet, Direct TV (awesome), and vonage for phone.
It is way cheaper than bundling with one company, at least in my area.
I would try FIOS, but I hate Verizon.

Same here. I almost switched to Fios triple play, phone, internet and cable, but when they said they would have to do some construction inside my basement, I said hell no. I kept Comcast. The only complaint I have is their billing cycle and the speed of the so called "high speed internet." I got spoiled at my job with instant page loading and such. At home, it's slow as molassas sometimes. I HATE that! But if you want a higher speed, you have to pay "higher fees." Greedy ass mofos! mad

We have Vonage as well. This new complex comes with digital phone, but I can't even port my phone number over. I HAVE to use their phone number, so my Vonage number I've had for 5 years is going to the trash. It pisses me off that I can't port my own number over. I loves my Vonage.

We used to have Comcast several years ago and they absolutely suck!!!!!

We have the dish now and it is great. You don't have to worry about losing the signal when it is couldy or even during a regular storm. The only time we temporarily lost the signal was during an extremly hard down pour. It lasted maybe a minute or two.

Otherwise we have never lost the signal nor have we had a rate increase since we got the Dish.

Not sure about the HD channels compared to Comcast.

I'm just the opposite..we have Direct TV at home...and Dish Network at the office and at my parents house...

I prefer Dish Network mainly because of their cutomer service...Direct TV's approach to customer service is a fucking joke...Dish Network has been more than helpful with any issues we've had, tho there weren't many issues at all...

Direct TV can kiss a fat babys ass and will be out of my home as soon as our contract expires next month...

the only advantage Direct TV has over Dish Network imo, is how their guide is set up and divided into catergories...but it's far from being any knd of feature that endears me to them...shrug

Time Warner; and it's just so-so. I have had issues with them over the years, and have had to call them out more than once to correct a problem that I was having with my cable TV service.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
