I want to read that! The movie is pretty fantastic. Have you seen it? I think it runs on either Sundance or Independent Film Channel (IFC) from time to time; perhaps even Showtime or The Movie Channel (TMC). That's how I saw it. Emile Hirsch did such a great job.

No, I haven't. I intend to, but I always read the book first if I can. I heard about this story on tv (I think it was the Oprah show) quite some time ago but didn't think of it until a friend told me a few days ago she was going to watch the movie and then I remembered and got very interested.

I can only vouch for the movie but it's really good. I usually try to read a book first as well, but this time it was opposite. Sometimes I find a wikipedia page on a movie/book to read about the differences in either.

pretty good so far..... Very good book. I read it quite a while back, well before the movie was ever talked about. Another recommendation is Janet Fitch's White Oleander. It was made into a movie w/ Michelle Pfeiffer, and a host of others. It very closely follows the book too. I enjoyed White Oleandar. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. I'm not reading anything right now and I haven't put forth the effort to do so in quite some time (much to my shame ). I have been meaning to read some books that I got accidentally from one of book clubs b/c I forgot to tell them not to send my monthly selection One of them is The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois. Another is a book I was assigned in one of my classes that I never really read like I was supposed to which is The Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat.
Now let's see if I actually read them I graduated bitches!!! 12-19-09

When I was packing my books the other day for this big move, I realized I had both How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Waiting To Exhale. haha I grab books at the library book sales on bag day ($2/bag whatever you can fit in it) I usually get more non-fiction, but I do try to get some fiction for balance. I forgot I had both of those from Terry McMillan. I also have a handful of books from Toni Morrison.

For work, I'm reading:
- "The Sun Also Rises" (American Lit) - "Indian Killer" (Contemporary Lit) - "Inherit the Wind" (English 9, period 6) - A series of short stories (English 9, period 8) I've been juggling books, while trying to read for pleasure. I just finished this...
Very good sequel to Chocolat. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Very good sequel to Chocolat. I read another one by her details are hazy now, it had an aqua coloured cover, something about a fishing village?

Five Quarters of the Orange is great, though. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

This:
It's simply an amazing work of literature. Witty, at times wildy humorous, and always biting. The pros is often so clever I want to weep.

I am currently half-way through Tolstoy's epic War and Peace. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it is VERY long. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...
