I got good grades and had friends but hated going (especially as a child, I was a Mama's boy redface). I once threw myself out a moving bus just cuz I didn't want to go. My mom came home from work with a BORROWED belt to rectify the situation.lol

Favorite subjects: English and Art (and Theater, once I got to high school).

What were you like at school? Detached and bored

What was your favorite subject/teacher?
Chior ~ Mr. Everson
Music theory ~ Mr Everson
Psychology
Logic
Band ~ Mr Vondercheck
Rhetoric

Did you get good grades? Only in the classes I was interested in. I intentionally failed the ones that bored me until I realized I had to at least get a D to graduate

Tell all! In 6th grade we used to play spin the bottle in the teacher

What were you like at school?
A nerd then, a nerd now. Bookworm.

What was your favorite subject/teacher?
Favorite subject in grade school was math. High school was history. College is back to math/economics. My favorite teacher was Ms. Baker. She was my third grade teacher and followed me all through high school. Inspires me still all these years.

Did you get good grades?
Class valedictorian in elementary school, top 10% high school, currently maintain anywhere from a 3.0 to a 4.0 right now in college.

I was waaaay too talkative in a disruptive way. blahblah
I was the smart kid who thought she knew more than the teachers.
I failed Chemistry, tho. I still don't get it. If a student asks me for help, I send him to another teacher. boxed

I was a total geek- geek Corny clothes, corny hair, ugly shoes. disbelief

My favorite classes were the music classes. Senior year, I had concert band, orchestra, jazz band and I was in marching band. biggrin

Undergrad, I was a hot mess. I worked 2 jobs, so my studies suffered.
In Grad school, I've maintained a 3.8 average thru a Post-Bacc program, my Masters, and now in the Doctoral program. geek

Once I realized that I could just about pass on test grades alone, I stopped doing homework for the most part. I think most teachers ended up disappointed by me. They all thought I could get straight A's or whatever, but I was fine with a D or higher. I'm not an overachiever at all.

In elementary school I was a bit of a class clown type, but still made honor roll all the time until like 4th grade. Went to the citywide spelling bee every year...placed well in some science fairs. A bit of a nerd early on I guess. Then my family moved after 5th grade and I became very quiet in 6th grade and sort of stayed that way unless I was around people I had known for a while.

My favorite classes were probably Spanish, German, and Advanced Composition.

In high school, I also used to just show up to take tests. I was bored and not challenged in some of my classes at all.

In grade school, I also was spelling bee champ, science fair champ, math champ, social studies champ, etc. lol

I got bullied for being smart though. In grade and high school.

Always did the bare minimum and never really stretched myself. Part laziness, and honestly, part boredom. I wasn't a nerd, but I wasn't one of the really cool kids, even though I was in the cool group. I was just there to add a bit of wit and sarcasm. I pissed off a lot of my teachers for wasting potential and being a really facetious cunt in class wherever I could find a laugh. lol

I was the girl who didn't feel popular but later found out that I was. I kept to myself... didn't care to follow any crowd or group of girls/guys. I always wore black but back then they didn't call it goth, because that term wasn't used than. I was in an urban school with the majority of the population being 1/2 black and 1/2 Asian students so my clothing choices stuck out like a sore thumb in the late 80's.

My grades went every marking term from straight A's to straight F's. I didn't give a shit about my grades... I never did homework one single day ever. All my teachers would be frustrated because I would sit and draw designs on my paper and look to be not paying attention only to be called upon and have the answer every time. My calculus teacher Mr. Moynihan was a kickass teacher who literally cussed me out and called me a cheat because I always aced all my exams. I scored high on my SAT's and got a scholarship to MassArt. Kicked ass at MassArt too. smile

In my sophmore year of high school I was in the seniors drafting class.. I LOVED to draw and designed at least 12 dresses for the girls in my senior class. I wore my own design for my prom well... a dress inspired by the Lovesexy Prince era complete with leather trim and chains. lol

I was always clad in fishnets and spiked heels or gartered socks and NaNa shoes with mini skirts that stopped at my crotch. I never got any grief from my mom and my teachers about my style choices... they loved the way I dressed and said I carried myself with class. Although my peers in my neighborhood didn't feel the same way, so groups of girls would try to jump me on my way from school... that's why I always carried knives and other weapons everyday to and from school. No one ever knew, I was never searched... I wore a 7" knife openly on my keychain to school and I always carried a butterfly knife, in my bag. Never got stabbed in a fight. Thank God.

I was like the chick in the black from the Breakfast Club. lol

What were you useless at? My math was shocking on the whole. I just didnt get my head around why I would need to know the individual price of each egg in a carton of 6.

Math has always been my weakest subject.

I never really got bullied for it. Of course, I was taller than most kids in the class so maybe that helped. And I also set the tone early with this one kid that used to mess with me (not really bullying, I never felt threatened or anything). DDT'd him in the hallway Jake The Snake Roberts style. Like most kids in my neighborhood, I was into wrestling back then.

Anyhow, a WWF move was like instant street cred in grade school.

OMG! I thought the same way! I would get straight A's every so often just to prove to my peeps that were over acheivers :cough: stillgotit :cough: that I wasn't a dummy. lol

I was bullied a bit at first by a few, but then I dated this hard-core thug and every one was treating me after like I was connected to the mafia and left my skinny butt alone. I felt like one of the untouchables. lol

I loved school until I hit high school. I was in all the honors and advanced classes. I loved every class and subject, really.

My earlier schools had much better academic programs and when I hit high school there wasn't enough to keep me interested and engaged. I still graduated highest honors, but I was able to coast and still get almost straight As. I did theatre and hung out with a wholly unstable and neurotic group of misfit friends. We had a good time together. I think by then I was also so used to every adult calling me "mature for my age" and being the good kid that it was finally time to rebel. I did a lot of stuff that kids should never, ever do and I never got caught for anything.

ROTC mushy we had the BEST drill team in Boston when I was in high school. Loved to watch them practice... during my gym class I would take off go to downtown, buy a sammich at Fuddrucker's and come back to eat and watch them practice. That was my gymclass experience. lol

I had selective mutism. I didn't start talking to anyone at school (or the 2 previous years at preschool) until I was 8.

I never had a very close best friend. I had the same 2 friends from age 10 - 15. Couldn't wait to get out of there. I was the only kid in my year level to get an A in english in VCE neutral

I was a pretty normal kid during elementary school and was mostly known for being a good drawer. I think I later finished junior high with the highest average score of all students though. In high school I was mostly just interested in music, so my grades in those subjects that demanded doing homework sometimes weren't that good. I had zero interest in math, and I think still to this day that emphasizing that aspect of education too much teaches really strange values to kids.

It seemed like I had, uhm, "natural talent" for geography and biology. For some oblivious reason I always had the highest score on those exams. I thought my psychology teachers in high school weren't up to too much. I did respect our philosophy teacher, even if he was also an orthodox priest himself. I guess he was my favourite teacher out of everyone I had.

I'm still in school though. lol

i never got anything less than an "A" in any subject in school, and in highschool i always had a 4.0. i was always picked on for being the smart girl in the class, and a lot of kids would ask me to do their homework for them, so i did on one condition, you had to pay me with a new kids on the block poster, pencil or trading card in return for your good grade. lol my fave. subjects were history, english lit., social studies. i didn't care for math really, but i forced my way through it. biggrin
