Does anybody know much about Camcorders.... I want to by a camcorder but I don't know what kind to get. I don't want to pay top dollar for a HD camera. I wanted to know if Digital camcorders look okay on a high definition TV or is it like watching cable tv on a LCD tv without a HD cable box?
I would like to buy a HD camcorders but I don't want to pay $700-800. I seen the new flip HD camcorders but they don't have much Zoom capabilities. I want a nice HD camera with a good Zoom. Help!

^ Just so the OP knows to pay attention to the optical zoom capabilities and ignore the digital zoom specs altogether. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

they do here still we got a Sony HD one, with HDrec it's awesome having drag and drop files to back up to disk. it was pricey, about AUS$1K but the image quality is like amazing compared to our old SD one which on our HDTV looked so bad I could just cry
