Don't remember how it came up in conversation, but a female friend of mine said that making direct eye contact during sex is 'a bit over the top' and 'too intense'. This freaked me out a bit, as that's something I really enjoy.

I've spoken to a couple of other women that I know and had a similar opinion from them. Are they being neurotic or is this a common opinion among girls?

Whenever any kind of intimacy comes into play, direct eye contact is good.

Personally, I feel that in order for me to get the full internal experience, I need to concentrate. Opening my eyes only takes away from the intensity I am feeling.

So to me, it's distracting. Only during penetration do I feel this way.

I think it is good to have eye contact during sex .. or more so during foreplay. It makes it all the more intense!!

I usually prefer my eyes shut, but it depends on his performance, and in the person itself. If the eye contact is part of what makes it exciting with the guy, then sure.
