Dubai and that ^ in particular just makes me think of this.

Pretty and all as it may be, it's not on my list. Imagine ending up doing 4 years for possession of Rennies. Fuck that for a lark. Plus they need a serious overhaul in their attitude towards women.

I guess to a certain extent such buildings should be lauded - beautifully designed and engineered, and indicative of humankind's massive capacity for creativity. But it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. After the intitial 'oh, that's beautiful', I can't help thinking it's just wanton excess in a place that could put the materials and resources to far better use. Like building rape crisis centres, for example.

Crimes are everywhere and in every country, to generalize an entire country based on actions of some people or a certain Group is ridiculous.

I could say the same thing to many countries who did the same things and even worst but I do believe that actions of some people doesn't represent the entire country and its people.

Of course crime happens everywhere.
It’s how the crime is being handled by authorities that is disturbing.

Whenever I think of Dubai, I think of my cousin who moved there a few years ago to teach English, and long story short, ending up converting to Islam and marrying an Arabic man and is now a part of his "harem". He has other wives and children. She now wears the traditional abaya everywhere, including in the States when she visits, and she just had his baby a few months ago. confused

If you knew what she was like before, you'd be shocked too.

Anyway . . . as I was saying . . . the cool designer I mentioned earlier is named Rabia Z. I've seen some video of her fashion shows and she has some gorgeous designs and makes it a point to use models of different races. Hell, you see more black girls on her runways than at New York Fashion Week. And although I love showing some skin, I would soooo wear her designs.

This is the story I saw last night. love

I posted above that she seems brainwashed to me. You don't know her, and I obviously have my whole life, so of course it's weird for our entire family when you hear news like this. Since when do we have to agree with every choice someone in our family makes? lol confuse
