MrsMdiver said: Fauxie said: Thanks! What's cool is the change I can see already. I've always had quite firm abs no matter what shape I've been in because over the last 10 years there have been times when I've done a LOT of crunches, so they're always there, but lately they've been covered up by a combo of little rolls of fat on my gut but also pretty often a big round bulge from being bloated. That bloating has totally gone now I'm stopped drinking beer. Oh, and even though I do need to ultimately put on some weight I've deliberately been eating relatively light meals for the same purpose, to feel more trim and light so as to feel good for working out. Speaking of which, I got up at 6:30am and lifted weights and did my crunches and once Mon and the little one are awake I'm going to hit the exercise bike for 20 minutes. It's like I'm 18 again, only now when I hit 30 I'm going to be even fitter and more healthy. Keep watching me though, I don't want to slip I have never liked beer. I am really happy about that. Empty calories that make you bloated. Not good! If I am going to drink, I want the hard stuff. I likely will drink beer again, but I'll try to just have a couple of small bottles on a Saturday night with the footy, so I really enjoy it. You're right, empty calories and bloating, and the silly thing is I was drinking so much that it was becoming a bore taste-wise, yet I was still doing it out of habit. This way will be better for me and I'll enjoy it more. Right now though I'm coming to the end of the spirits we've got. My drinks have been getting weaker and weaker, weaning myself off it. Soon I'll be out and I'll be drinking plain fruit juice until the end of the month. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

Girls. _____ variousorgers said: the consolatory comments on the Oberheim OB-X
The problem is that those things appear for sale here only about once per year. Prince used such a thing in the early-80s as well, although that's not the only reason why I want one. Nothing has just sounded the same since. I would have the money stashed in the closet, but I just have to take the very uncertain future into account now. [Edited 2/14/10 1:45am]

Though after taking Dan to the pub at 11am and watching how easily he got a bit tipsy, I think Brit's handle their alcohol better than most.

He seemed to get drunk quite quickly when we went out the first time we met him. I can't decide right now whether I'm going to have a beer or not. It wasn't in my plans to do so. I may just get a bottle of Coke or Sprite to finish off this cheap Thai whiskey with (it needs a sweet mixer, trust me ). I'd be really intrigued about how a beer would taste to me now. It might taste awesome having taken a break from it for 2 weeks (which I worked out must be the longest I've gone without a beer for 10 years), or it may taste pretty average or even really bad (like cigarettes after giving up for a while, which aren't sweet relief, but rather absolutely foul!) Decisions, decisions. Mon's said it's ok (that enabler!) since it's Valentine's Day and we've just spent a quiet one at home (to match our quiet, frugal month so far). I think I'm going to cave and just get a couple of bottles. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

He was running out to the store. I do not like the "British" bacon here so I said I just fancied some hash brown's. I was going to make pancakes but did not feel like going through the effort since I am the only one that really enjoys them but end up only eating 1 or 2 before getting full. Then he says, how about I get some of that "American" bacon that you like. I said, No, it is too fattening, I don't need it. He says, come on, it's Valentine's Day, you haven't had it in ages. So I caved. God, or a higher being got revenge on me in the end though. I left the cooked bacon on the counter and went out to check on the baby. The dog decided to go into kitchen and help himself. We managed to catch him in time before he ate it all but I ate less than I normally would have. I was so pissed, I didn't want any after that.
