How to erase search bar history?

I know this sounds like a "noob" question..... but how do i get rid of all the previous searches from popping up in the search bar?
I have win7 & internet explorer.

How long before you get busted with those porn searches?

Don't forget to clear your browsing history and CTRL+C on some innocent shit in case you previously copied something you shouldn't have been pasting...

Maybe go with like a link to 1-800-Flowers or something.

Well don't use a search engine. God knows if they'll turn up results by the bucket full.
