MTV's Taking The Stage exits most of the black faces! Holy shit, did you guys here about this? MTV has a reality show called Taking the Stage, which is about life at a local school for Performing arts, filmed here in Cincinnati. The first season was almost all black kids, who were mostly positive role models. Now it's season 2 and MTV in it's ratings hungry need to "balance" the cast truck in a bunch of white kids to make the show now mostly white. Are these actual students or actors putting a white face to the channel, so as to get a large, white audience of kids who love the other awful programming on the channel? We don't really know, I just know that with most of the media being white dominated shows, this move by MTV is right up there with denying Michael Jackson's videos back in the day.
I live here, believe me, that school is majority black. Those white kids are ringers. So, white kids can't watch black kids? Black kids have to watch white people. The usual big media racist double standard at work. Sad. All you others say Hell Yea!!

What else is new? Black kids don't have to be forced to watch it, unless it's personal choice, but no, this doesn't surprise me. [Edited 2/3/10 12:51pm]

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

My popup blocker works fine and these quotes show your argument to be fundamentally flawed. It was the school's goal to attract students from outside the school. "I think we've been able to attract some great new talent this year," says Dr. Isidore Rudnick, SCPA artistic director. "These are students largely who saw the show last year, became interested in SCPA, and applied to the school and auditioned."
For years, SCPA has had an open-door policy of letting area suburban students audition at the city's arts school. If they're accepted, the families must pay out-of-district tuition or move into the city, he says. "That's the way it's always been," he says. Promoting his school to attract the area's most talented young artists was one of his reasons for letting MTV into the building, Rudnick says. And it worked. Applications were up 60 percent last year after international exposure on MTV's musical-reality series, which was co-created by 1992 alum Nick Lachey. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
