Well... I'm a little scared. My furnace died yesterday, and I was told "about 48 hours" to get a new one. It's 51 degrees in here right now.
I hope they get it fixed before the storm comes. sad

I get time off for snow and I still get paid for it, so by all means, let it snow. I'll get paid to sleep in.

As long as the weather isn't bad in Madison or Dallas on Friday, it can do what it likes.

We've been shovelin all day already. Heaviest expected overnight.
At least we're not getting the 60 inches they off-the-record thought were possible. Now about 30".

I thought we left this snow shit up North. mad

Only had to work 3 hours today thanks to the snow. I imagine I might even get time off Monday. I mean, the weekend will suck but still...time off is time off.

It's 11:36 PM now and it's coming down like gangbusters...blizzard conditions. It's really pretty though; however, it won't be so pretty when I have to go out and shovel 20" off my sidewalk. mad

No, I guess we brought it with us. lol

Isn't it funny how DC considers any snowfall newsworthy? I mean network TV preempted all regular programming to cover this storm. Jeez, they're acting like it's Armageddon or something! Well, in a way, I guess it is... smile

OMG, one of our neighbors has accused us on more than one occasion of bringing the snow down with us. Tonight he came up (he sneaked up and scared the shit out of me while I was out there shoveling mad) and said the first few snows were cute, but now he'd had enough and we need to leave.

I would agree with ya but anymore the mid west is like that. News stations treat each snow storm like some End of Days shit and during the winter in the Mid West it snows a hellavu lot. Its the sensationalist media we now live under. EVERYTHING is a story.

It's 10:00am here in North Central NJ, and it has stopped. There is maybe a little over an inch. rolleyes

Last night people were packing the supermarkets, Home Depot, and gas stations like it was their last chance to ever get supplies. lol

I'm glad tho, it's so restricting when you're snowed in... but now my shopping is done! biggrin

I love a big snowstorm. mushy The kind that makes the world stop for a day or two. People are nicer, you get that "we're all in this together" mentality going, some hot chocolate and a coupla good dvds and it's all warm and cozy inside. My friends and I have always had a tradition of throwing on our boots and ratty winter outdoor gear and plodding through the drifts to the nearest watering hole and having a few pints. Good times.

This one has mostly missed us. We got a bit over the last couple days and will get a bit more this week, but no more than an inch or two with each storm.

You're good. At least you started yesterday. I just came in from shoveling at least 21". I couldn't even open my storm door but for about 4". My neighbors had to come dig out the porch so I could open the door. I then went out and we had a "chain gang" going. Four people shoveled the sidewalks and porches of 4 houses in about an hour. Just that fast, and the snow has accumulated at least 2" in the last hour!
