i'm gonna go ahead and call a bunch of these wins now.
1. Best Picture: "Up in the Air." though, with 10 noms, this is the category with possible upset. "avatar" could steal it. poor "hurt locker" "precious" and "inglorious" are lost in the shuffle of 10, where they would have better shots if it were 5. 2. Actor: Jeff Bridges, "Crazy Heart"; mostly because he's deserved it soooo many other times. 3. Actress: Sandra Bullock, "The Blind Side"; it's her time. 4. Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, "Inglourious Basterds." 5. Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique, "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire." 6. Directing: Quentin Tarantino, "Inglourious Basterds"; mostly because he's been ignored so many times 7. Foreign Language Film: "The White Ribbon," Germany. 8. Adapted Screenplay: Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner, "Up in the Air." though precious could take it. it will be close. 9. Original Screenplay: Mark Boal, "The Hurt Locker"; 10. Animated Feature Film: "Up." personally, i'd give it to fantastic mr. fox. but... up was awesome. 11. Art Direction: "Avatar," 12. Cinematography: "Avatar," 15. Original Score: "Up," Michael Giacchino. 16. Original Song: "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)" from "Crazy Heart," Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett. 20. Film Editing: "The Hurt Locker," 24. Visual Effects: "Avatar," Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton

I'm surprised to see District 9 nominated for Best Picture. I mean, it was no better or worse than Avatar to me, which I don't think deserves a Best Picture nomination either, but given all its hype, I am less surprised about it.

I'm hoping Gabourey Sidibe wins. i'm sayin' . i don't mind sandra for the most part and haven't seen the blind side. looks whack to me and not a whole bunch different from anything else she's done or that has been done a MILLION times, but who knows . i loved me some precious though, but don't see her winning (over them crackers :cough: ). monique kicked ass in that too and is a shoo-in, imo . i wasn't crazy about the lovely bones, but old dude was creepy as fuck in it, as was dude in inglourious basterds (which was great ). the only other movies nominated i saw (and probably will see ) were district 9 (surprised that's up there, but it was okay, except towards the end when it got all transformer-ish and shit ) and star trek . avatar's prolly gonna get best picture For all time I am with you, you are with me.
