For those drivers who fail to use signals when changing lanes . . .

Why?
We can all move faster if we don't have to second guess every other drivers' intentions. That's what the light do. Signal your intention.

Thoughts?
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I remember an old guy ringing up a radio station to say he thought new cars didn't come with indicator lights. In his opinion drivers of today were inconsiderate and showed no courtesy whatsoever, nevermind the safety issues.

Of the states I have lived in, this seems to be rampant here in Maryland more than anywhere else.

That's one of my biggest petpeeves. I literally hate when drivers neglect to signal when they're changing lanes or turning!

So do I!
You appreciate when people do it for others, but . . . .
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I always, always, always signal... even if I'm exiting the fwy. I'll signal 30yds. before the actual off-ramp (a forced habit brought on by German Driving schools!!)

I swear if we adopted the multiple-choice/multiple-answer tests from Germany there'd be HELLA people walking or riding the bus... nod

You have to answer ALL correct or you fail the question, approx. 80 questions (I think...) and a "30% fail on the first try" rate. Then you have to wait XX days until you can re-apply...

It'd be chaos here...

I agree. Up until 6 months ago I used to commute 120 miles daily and nobody uses their signals. It is not that difficult, oh unless your on the phone. Dumbasses!

I hate people on their cell phones too! I occasionally talk on my phone while driving but I don't get so lost in my conversation that I forget what I'm doing. Just the other day, some jerk on his phone almost ran me off the road because he didn't realize that the two lane street had become one lane. He pulled right up beside me and then looked at me like I was crazy when I blew my horn. Idiot!

don't get me started on bad driving behaviour (people using the wrong lane on roundabout is prob my top one),

but lack of use of indicators is so annoying. maybe we all meant to use our telepathy?

I'm a proud signaler. Hell, I'll even stick a hand out of the window (but that signal always seems to have an extended finger at the end.... hmmm )

My thing is, they came free with the car so it's okay to use them!

But this day and age if that's the worse thing a person does when driving then you are probably not doing too bad....

it's really quite simple. half of the people on the road these days have room-temperature IQs, or less.

they are too freaking stupid to live.

they have no actual comprehension of just how physically injured/fucked up people can be when they are in car accidents.

moreover, they are too arrogant, toobusy talking on the cellphones, or texting, to actually DRIVE THEIR FUCKING CARS ACCORDING TO THE LAWS.

i hate all of you non-signaling idiots and just so you know i WILL sue your ass off if and when you harm me or my property through your negligent, incompetent driving.

have a nice day smile

Honey come to Chicago; I truly believe my fellow drivers here think that little thingy on the left hand side of the steering column is there for decoration.

Cant you just feel when someone wants to get over, too? But if they don't signal I am not assuming anything. I'm not giving a bunch of space to someone who's not indicating they want to change lanes.

what I hate is when someone wants to put out of a parking lot into traffic and i leave them space and they are not paying attention. So then I look like an idiot for just sitting there.

or when people slow down as then try to enter a highway. Huh you really NEED to push that peddle on the RIGHT. (or if you are in a Toyoda it might do it for you)

I signal when changing lanes but I have noticed when you signal and are about to change lanes people speed up as soon as they see you do it, so they don't let you change lanes. I like to drive in the same lane without too many lane changes.

Try driving in and around NYC at rush hour. Traffic is a nightmare, even at 4am. Thank goodness for the transit system.
