You know, none of us were born knowing how to use anything, were we? None of us instantly knew how to use a computer, how to use Windows, what an MP3 was, or how to decode a FLAC file. We all learned by using a search engine, reading forums or just TRYING something. I used to use Winamp, and there was a plugin for FLAC files, so I never had to decode them into WAV or whatever. I could just play them as is. How did I know that? I went into the Plugin section on Winamp.com and READ until I saw something that I could use. The same goes for SHN and APE formats (similar to FLAC). I said all that to say.....read, research, do the homework. When you're at a stage of not knowing what a FLAC is, yet you have a hard drive full of them...wouldn't it be suitable to your needs to do a little research? Type "What is FLAC" into Google, and read about it. Sure there will always be times we need a nudge from someone, but the bulk of what any of us have learned has been from taking 10 minutes to read and do the math on it. You gotta be willing to do the work. | |

You gotta be willing to do the work. I'm a little bit stuck in the 90's when it comes to computers. When I had a problem not understanding FLAC and wanted the better sound quality, I came to the org and started a thread. The helpful people here ran me through it (like they did when I had my Windows 7 thread). I found the online how-to thingos needlessly confusing and orgers gave me all the help I needed. So asking for help is perfectly acceptable and often easier, IMO. Orgers a good like that "...and If all of this Love Talk ends with Prince getting married to someone other than me, all I would like to do is give Prince a life size Purple Fabric Cloud Guitar that I made from a vintage bedspread that I used as a Christmas Tree Skirt."
