so i choose to OPEN with songbird??

You could have just downloaded the FLAC encoding/decoding program. It's under 2MB to download I believe. It'll unpack the files to the original uncompressed WAV for you to do whatever you want with them (like burn a CD, or encode to another format).

You should probably stick to downloading MP3s and using Windows Media Player to play them

Oh, well, converting them IS a bit harder lol

What I did when I got this one album in .flac files was to convert them to AAC, added them to my iTunes library and then used the iTunes converter.

That's unnecessarily complicated for iTunes.

I'm on a Mac - the process may be different for a PC. But what I do is convert the flac files to .wav using MacFlac. You can instruct the program where to save the converted files - tell it to put them in the iTunes Music folder. It will save the wav files there - and all you have to do to play them is to click on them. They will open in iTunes automatically.

NOW...you will probably have to go into "get info" and change the album name, etc. to get it all nice and tidy in your iTunes. And since wavs take a lot of space, you may want to convert them to AAC after you burn a disc.

I use a program called Switch. It's an audio converter from NCH? Anyway, it'll convert FLAC files to mp3. Once U convert them, just load them into your Real Player or Windows Media Player and burn them. It's not difficult, believe me.
If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Free Flac to Wav/mp3/wma converter: http://www.dvdvideosoft.c...verter.htm

I's lightweight and super simple to use. Just drag the flacs into the window, choose the destination and file type/quality then select convert.

the flac program is free and converts back to wav, but if you google you will find a plug in for nero so you can burn flac files to audio cd without converting them, and there is now a free version of nero

or use traders little helper which is also free and converts stuff easily

use winamp or foobar to play the files, and media monkey to synch to ipods and mp3 players and convert, tag files etc

LameDrop will convert FLAC to MP3 without having to convert to WAV beforehand.

http://www.rarewares.org/...medrop.php

If the FLAC files are tagged, it'll embed the tags into the new MP3 file too.

Uninstall that program and delete it.

Revo Uninstaller is the best uninstaller.

If you want to burn the FLAC files to a CD, you don't need Nero, you can use Burrrn.

Hope that helps.
