SMU student found dead is son of pro golfer Ken Green Hunter Green, the 21-year-old sophomore who died last week at Southern Methodist University, is the son of professional golfer Ken Green.
Ken Green posted on his blog Tuesday: "Well, today is another sad day. I'm sorry to say that my youngest son, Hunter, has passed. His journey in life has ended and I can't tell you how difficult understanding this is." Joseph Hunter Green, who went by Hunter, was found dead Friday in his dorm room in the SMU House, formerly the Kappa Alpha fraternity house. SMU police say he died of "unexplained" causes and have not elaborated. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is still investigating the death and said results won't be available for at least eight weeks. Hunter grew up in Palm Beach County, Florida and had attended University of Central Florida.

Damn, I just watched an interview with Bryan Gumbel where he talked about battling his demons and getting back to golf. Then he had the RV accident last June that killed his brother, girlfriend, and beloved dog and resulted in him losing a leg but he was determined to get back to golf. And now this . . . He's had a rough few months. Hope he gets through it.

May Mr. Green's faith, support from family, and friends get him through this. I saw the interview with Mr. Gumble this man been through a lot of hardship and heartbreak, now this.

Isn't it though? It's all so sad. I remember when he jumped into a lake to save his dog from an alligator. And that same dog saved him from almost overdosing cuz the dog woke up his girlfriend. [Edited 1/27/10 5:06am]

RIP little man. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou
