He's got a certain business savvy. I'll give him that, if we're counting that as talent.

I would not consider her an A-list celeb. Shameless self promotion via scandalous stories are pure D-list, baby.

All of them.

My brother - whose written a couple fiction novels about Hollywood - and I were talking about this the other day.

I observed that there hasn't been a real movie star, IMHO, since George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Pretty much every "star" since then is lame. They're all so plain-looking.

It's even worse with the women "stars". I think the last real beautiful female movie star is MAYBE Catherine Zeta-Jones. All the women since then have been plain-vanilla stick figures.

I think there are a few more real stars left (Angelina, for example), but I so agree with you in general. And while I was reading what you wrote, it reminded me of one star I used to love--she's crazy as a loon, but hear me out on this. Sharon Stone could always be counted on, at every awards show and the like, to come dressed like a star, decked out in beautiful gowns and jewelry. She always looked like Hollywood glamour to me. I miss that on so many stars today.

The first two that I thought of have already been mentioned, Keanu Reeves and Paris Hilton.

If Hayden Christensen counts as A-list, I'd nominate him. I guess the same goes for the Michael Cera who played the same guy in Superbad, Year One, and I imagine Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Lastly, and I wouldn't have thought of this had it not been for recent headlines, but Jay Leno. The guy sucks at his job (IMO), but somehow has been pretty damn successful.

Wow, really? I really like him as an actor. love But I think he's B-list.

I nominate Taylor Swift.

Yeah probably B-list. Admittedly, I've only seen him in the Star Wars films and Awake...which reminds me, Jessica Alba could easily be on here.

Michael Cera definitely belongs in the list

He plays the same character in every movie neutral

I love Michael Cera, though. I agree, his characters are all variations on a same theme, but I think he knows his strengths and plays to them well. In a few years he'll really be able to branch out, but he'll always have that Michael Cera thing, no matter what. I think that's awesome.

I think he's gonna be like this generation's John Cusack. He didn't exactly have a Lloyd Dobler role, but it's kinda close. The lovable nerd/dork/whatever just outside of center. There will be a certain kinda girl that's gonna remember that fondly for the rest of her life and there will always be that "awww..." kinda thing and he'll be able to find roles for the rest of his life.

TheVoid

Janet Jackson - a dreadful voice, so-so everything else except her looks after lypo and a starvation diet or countless hours a ta gym before a tour. And absolutely pointless, forgettable tunes outside of a handful. Long before Britney, Spice Girls, etc. Janet set the bar on what a forgettable talent should sound like. "When I think of you" could possibly one of the worst pop singles released by an A-list singer, ever. To say that I am perplexed by her popularity would be inaccurate--I understand why she is popular. And the afterglow of an exponentially more gifted and popular brother reinforces her likeliness of success and celebrity status. But, she sucks so completely, sooooo irrecoverably, that her lack of talent threatens to unhinge the balance of the cosmos and cause all of creation to come crashing in on itself. Little orphans weep.

Perez Hilton - Should someone EVER be famous for gossiping and being a chatty queen? (I know A-list is debatable), but let's be honest here--he gets more attention than Springsteen, Tom Petty, and hip hop artist on the scene for more than 1.5 years.

Kevin Costner - He is to movies what Janet Jackson is to music. How in the hell his boring ass got the movie rights to play Robinhood is way, way beyond me.

And finally, I'd like to add one to the list: Janet Jackson.... again... and for all the reasons stated above, and so, so ,sooooo much more.
