I remember being upset because my parents bought me an imitation Members Only jacket for Christmas. I finally did get a true Members Only jacket a few months later just to have it stolen at a house party!

I had a grey one, and it was real.

I had a fake one...
I had one of those moms who refused to buy the designer label, but got you the knock-off.. I had the no-name jeans (no Sasson, Jordache, or GV), whack-ass loafers that weren't Bass Weejuns, and I won't even discuss my fake Candies with the wood-ish heels.

A few of my students have been wearing Members Only... they tell me they're cool again.

I did not. I wore much worse, as anyone who's a friend of mine on facebook can see. My friend just posted pics of us going to senior prom. Ah, the joys of facebook.

and a white linen jacket ala Miami Vice. and Ban Ray glasses.

I had a beige one for like a month and threw it away as soon as I got my first leather white jacket with the rabbit fur draping down on the shoulders... Just like a Grand Master Flash band member.

I was too boughie for a Member's Only after getting my 1st leather. My friend Sonya thought I was crazy... she snatched up my beige jacket fast.
