My poor wife is camping this weekend with the Girl Scouts The girls are great, but the weather is not. It's 45 and raining. The problem in Houston is that when it's 45 and raining, it chills you to the bone. It's not cold per se, but you can't get warm.
They're staying in tents that are on cement foundations. They'll be dry but not warm. Unfortunately, men cannot go on Girl Scout camping trips, or I would have done the duty. But alas, my poor, poor wife is braving the elements. At least she's prepared - sort of. Our Suburban was filled to the brim with gear and stuff. That should more than take care of the 1.5 days they will be gone. Although when I called her 30 minutes ago, they were at WalMart. I feel pretty bad, but not bad enough to turn my heat down.

We camped twice over New Year's when my son was a Boy Scout and got really lucky on the weather both times, but this is the first time the Girls have gone out camping in the winter.

So you're spending it in some random gay chat room with that oh so discreet "wife away here to play" bio line huh? The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I was a Girl Scout leader... AND a Boy Scout leader.
Camping was not about the elements, but about being in the elements with a group of kids. THAT was the roughing it part. I hope everything works out for your wife. "Love Hurts. I'm a Girl Scout. My troop never went camping. None of us were interested. I used to love exploring forests, but never wanted to sleep in one, lol. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

They're home. Of course, today it's 65 and sunny.
But they had a fine time. They'd packed well and never got really cold. Same couldn't be said of some of the other girls, though. My wife had to make three WalMart runs for jackets, gloves, etc. But they had fun, they're safe, and that's all that matters!

I will never forget when i was a girl scout and the camping trips. there was one year it was so fucking cold we could hardly get the posts in the ground to pitch the tent because the ground was frozen.
it was so fucking cold that we could not sleep. we went into the van and tried to sleep there but it was colder in there. i grew up in South Dakota, so it was pretty much always cold in the spring. We camped in fucking April and it was fucking 20 degrees outside! i think i slept in my sweater, 2 pair pants snow boots, winter coat, mittens, and ski cap. That was the first time I ever had wind burn. I didn't know your skin could fucking burn from the wind! Rodeo, your girls are just fine
