Pets at work!

Since I can't post on/bump my previous thread about this, I am starting a new one/update.

Two dogs back in the office today (the high strung Yorkie and the mutt) and the Yorkie just doody in a vacant office. mad

I do not like pets in the office.

Between the dogs and 16 new interns, I feel like I'm in a f*cking zoo.

Is there no way to start having allergic symptoms? Or go to your boss with an empty bottle of Claritin (or some other allergy medicine) and explain that they should start reimbursing you for the medicine you have to buy because of the inconvenience that the pet owners at the office are putting you through.

shrug it might cause a policy change with the pets being in the office.

Agreed. Unless it's your own business (like when you walk into a shop and the owner's pet laying under the register), and even then I wonder "what about folk who might come in and be afraid of dogs?", but I guess it's their loss (the owner).

Office, not cool.

It always perplexes me when people think that just because they love their animals that somehow you're going to love them too.

Bringing pets to work is not cute and not polite.

Totally agree.

But then again, here in Thailand animals are every fucking place. lol

I could be eating at an open air restaurant and see rats scurry on a ledge, chasing each other, then a cat sneaking a piece of dropped food into the bushes, then dogs following people hoping to receive some mercy meals.

It's sometimes all too much. lol

I used to work in a private school. The Principal was a little wacky.
One day after the kids were gone for the year, the teachers were there doing whatever to wrap up. All of a sudden, two huge Rottweilers came roaming down the hall. She had brought them to the school! omfg

- I was in the bank a few months ago- one of those old-fashioned one with the extremely high ceilings, built "forever" ago... A woman came walking in with her dog on a leash- not in her purse (rolleyes), but walking on all fours. That dog barked like crazy as she stood in the long bank line while it echoed thru that old building. She didn't have sense enough to take it out!! She just kept talking baby-talk to it. mad

- My Mom works at a mall where they supply "doggie strollers". doh!

LEAVE. IT. HOME.
Don't take it to work, don't bring it to the mall, bank or supermarket... Just don't.

(and yes, I love dogs- very much. I just don't think people should take them everywhere.)

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

there's a guy here at work who once in a while will bring his dog in...I love it! but I will admit that if it was many people or if this guy brought him in all the time...I'd probably be annoyed by it.
I actually love it when I go into a shop or something and there's a cat hanging around mushy makes me feel happy! smile

Right on. I feel this way too. I don't expect everyone to love all the things I love; so don't get all huffy when I don't think your little brat or yippy, poopy dog is the most wonderful thing in the world. exclaim

But how would you feel if it left you a doody? lol

It's lucky that Yorkie shit in a vacant office 'cause if it would have been under my desk I would have been pissed.

Yeah, I don't like that either. I'm have a very sensitive sense of smell. The smell of tuna makes me barf. At my first job, I shared an office with 2 other people; we had a "no eating at one's desk" rule between us for this very reason.

concur! biggrin

hell, I even hate when people leave them outside all day and night to bark and howl, how irritating. Why get a "pet" and you leave it outside all day?
