It pisses me off that people in positions of power or with a national platform do not denounce and decry this fool anytime he spouts this bullshit. Christian my ass.

Lamma is an org treasure, that's for sure.

It's funny how the world calls upon moderate Muslims to denounce their fanatics but no such denunciation has been forthcoming from Christian leaders regarding their own extremists.

Why would these folks denounce THEMSELVES?

The way things are looking you wonder if some of the living wished they were among the ones that had died. I can't imagine what it must be like to be surounded by such horror. I don't think New Orleans is anywhere back to normal and Katrina was 4 and a half years ago. It's going to be a never ending story of recovery for Haiti seeing what the place was like before the earthquake even hit.

pray and pray again.

nod

Proof positive that divine intervention doesn't exist is the fact that the earth hasn't swallowed HIM whole and he continues to spew his ignorance.

...then again...maybe he's proof of demonic intervention (if such a thing exists)?

As a descendant of both parents and ancestors of the Caribbean, (not Haiti in particular), I'm pretty much aware of what has been going on in Haiti for several years now, the myths and lies about the people, and their relgious beliefs, as well as the history of Haiti. Anyway, here's a little something for you to read:

Randall Robinson has been a longtime supporter of Haiti. He mentiond during the SOBU 2009 conference that the Clintons had a lot to do with the ousting of Aristede. Here's a summary of his book:

http://www.randallrobinson.com/

An Unbroken Agony

Haiti, from Revolution to the Kidnapping of a PresidentOn February 29th, 2004 the democratically elected president of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was forced to leave his country. The twice elected President was kidnapped, along with his Haitian-American wife, by American soldiers and flown, against his will, to the isolated Central African Republic. Although the American government has denied ousting Aristide it was clear that the Haitian people’s most recent attempt at self-determination had not been crushed by Haitian paramilitaries as Washington claimed.

In An Unbroken Agony, bestselling author and social justice advocate Randall Robinson explores the heroic and tragic history of Haiti. He traces the history of a people forced across the Atlantic in chains; recounting their spectacularly successful slave revolt against France and the two hundred years of reprisals that would follow. The fate of Aristide’s presidency is tied to this people’s century-long quest for self-determination and his removal from power exposes the apartheid-like forces that frustrate these aspirations even today.

Also, somebody please tell Pat to stop his BS madness:According to Geologists, Haiti has had several earthquakes, which makes Pat's BS theory worthless.

http://timesonline.typepa...ers-1.html

Records show that there hasn't been a major quake in the region since the mid-1800s, but this doesn't mean that the timing of the quake was unusual. US Geological Survey records document major quakes in Haiti in the years 1618, 1673, 1684, 1751, 1761, 1770 and 1860. The quakes are spaced at roughly 90 year intervals, with clusters spaced a decade apart. This is because it takes a long period for stress to build up in the fault system, and sometimes takes two or three quakes to relieve it. Geologists will also be working to establish whether last night's quake cleared

The U.S. State Department Operations Center said Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti should call 1-888-407-4747. Due to heavy volume, some callers may receive a recording. "Our embassy is still in the early stages of contacting American citizens through our Warden Network," the U.S. State Department said in a statement. "Communications are very difficult within Haiti at this time."

Text to help

For those interesting in helping immediately, simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill. [/quote

Relief slowly begins to arrive in Haiti
January 15, 2010 1:48 p.m. EST

Port-au-Prince, Haiti (CNN) -- The aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson gave hope to Haitians on Friday that much-needed relief is on the way, arriving with helicopters, hospital beds and operating rooms to help in the aftermath of this week's earthquake.

Emergency crews raced against the clock to rescue those still trapped under rubble. Rescuers were trying keep survivors alive, fed and sheltered as well as stave off civil strife amid scarce supplies of food and water.

"The United States and countries around the globe are mobilizing every available element of our national capacity," said Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in Washington.

"Coalition army and naval forces, disaster response teams, portable hospitals, canine search-and-rescue teams, and relief and medical supplies are streaming in from multiple compassionate nations."

He said the the military is best able to provide security, search-and-rescue capabilities, potable water and medical facilities as he ticked off the list of resources coming from the U.S. military.

Port-au-Prince
The Vinson is bringing 19 helicopters, 51 hospital beds, three operating rooms and has the capability of providing hundreds of thousands of gallons of water per day. It will remain off the coast, while people and supplies are flown to and from its landing deck.

Other assets include the destroyer Higgins for search and rescue and support and Coast Guard cutters with helicopters. Mullen said the 82nd Airborne Division is arriving to help with security.

Small helicopter-carrying naval vessels will be arriving. Mullen said the Bataan will be accompanied by two other ships in her amphibious ready group, USS Fort McHenry and USS Carter Hall, and the Marines of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit
.

And the hospital ship Comfort is expected to be off Haiti by the end of next week.U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Friday that a "major humanitarian effort" that is under way.

"Although it is inevitably slower and more difficult than any of us would wish, we are mobilizing all resources as fast as we possibly can," Ban said, announcing an appeal for $550 million.

When will people stop supporting this hate mongerer? disbelief

Rush 'meant' what he said about Haiti

Rush Limbaugh is not backing down from his claim that President Barack Obama is trying to score political points off the earthquake in Haiti.

Challenged by a caller during his show Thursday, Limbaugh said: “If I said it, I meant to say it, and I do believe that everything is political to this president.”

“Everything this president sees is a political opportunity, including Haiti, and he will use it to burnish his credentials with minorities in this country and around the world, and to accuse Republicans of having no compassion,” Limbaugh said in comments flagged by the liberal blog Think Progress.

Limbaugh has come under fire from both the right and the left for saying that the earthquake played directly into Obama’s hands, allowing him to look “compassionate.” The host claimed the White House’s response would bolster Obama’s standing in the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”

He also appeared to discourage help for the island nation, saying, “We've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.”

Critics have characterized Limbaugh’s comments as insensitive and tone-deaf at a time when heartbreaking images of the devastation dominate news coverage.

Confronted with some of that criticism, Limbaugh slammed a caller as “close-minded.”

“What I’m illustrating here is that you’re a blockhead,” Limbaugh shot back. “What I’m illustrating here is that you’re a close-minded bigot who is ill-informed.”

“If you had listened to this program for a modicum of time, you would know it,” he said. “But instead, you’re a blockhead. Your mind is totally closed. You have tampons in your ears. Nothing is getting through other than the biased crap that you read.”
