Though it wasn't down to air pollution, i'm convinced the guy in my avatar started the trend for wearing protective masks, especially in Japan where it's commonplace.
I see alot of folks doing it now, i don't automatically think 'Doctor', i think 'MJ'. God bless him.

And how. I have nothing against her, but she doesn't deserve all the hype she's getting for being fresh and different. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Majority of major white actresses don't have platinum blonde hair. I can think of more to add to your list of don'ts then people to add who did follow the trend.

I will say – there are times I get it in me that I want a certain color combination or certain cut of skirt or something and I can’t find it in stores ANYWHERE and I get SO frustrated and remind myself I should just be making my own clothes and then a year later it’s everywhere. Maybe you could call that a trend intuition? Either way – sometimes I follow and sometimes I don’t and through it all I have my own thing going on. I think I’ve done my job if friends can look at something and say – that’s totally Carrie. Or totally not.

celebrities set no trends. exactly, Madge did that ALL the time. What she understood was how to water it down a bit so it could be mass marketed. I use to get pretty angry about it when I was young. I'd think of those celebrities as robbers, but I have cooled my jets a bit. I was heavy into vintage in the late 70's and early 80's as were alot of people. Next thing you know celebrities make it "cool' and the price skyrockets. The whole thing was about great, artistic, well made clothes at fantastic prices, not exclusive prices!! There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.
