A Uruguayan man who spent $300 creating a YouTube video called Panic Attack! has been offered a $30 million contract to make a Hollywood film. "I uploaded on a Thursday and on Monday my inbox was totally full of e-mails from Hollywood studios," the creator tells the BBC. "It was amazing, we were all shocked." The clip, which features giant robots invading Montevideo, the Uruguayan capital, has already garnered 1.5 million views on YouTube. Now, with help from the production company of Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, the creator, Fede Alvarez, will transform the 5-minute short into a sci-fi flick shot in Argentina and Uruguay. The feature will have a revamped storyline, Alvarez said.

Only if it scares the schitt outta folks (Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity) I hate when they harp on the same formula over and over till it gets rediculous. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Now I can't stop watching this damn video! Unfortunately for me I'm not a film maker...looks like I missed out on 30 mil. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Oh yeah, I saw CNN reporting that yesterday. Point 3:28 in the video was amazing. That guy is extremely talented. That was better than the special effects in the movie "2012". [Edited 1/10/10 9:09am]

It was well done, but not original. And Like I said above, I do not believe the story at all. I think the media got duped. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Here you come from the left field of west hell as usual, I said open to new people and ideas GOING FORWARD, meaning people outside of hollywood's inner circle, not robots. Whether you believe it or not is of no consequence since I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Pay attention. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

So basically he owns the equipment, did the effects himself or got a TON of free work from everyone involved. Impressive though, looks good!

Pay attention. so should i ignore you or pay attention? besides you did say go forward with new people and ideas...so I assumed based on the rules of grammar that the new modified both the people and ideas. But I guess I see what you mean, that, even if it is a over used idea that it is still worth seeing. I liked it okay, and I would watch it at some point if it was a movie.
