It seems like the weather was to blame for this.
Yeah, they probably should've been more prepared but c'mon. MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! We want cigar puffing men that look like they wanna beat the living daylights out of us" Val"sporking is spooning with benefits"

And I used to be so naive to think that Amtrak and Greyhound were very reliable and comfortable and cheap. I hear nothing but bad stories about them. It's a damn shame that in this day and age the US still doesn't have a state of the art rail system. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

That happened to my sister on her way home from Florida to NYC on the Amtrak, about 5 years ago. It was horrible; they ran out of food, the bathrooms were backed up, it was a nightmare to say the least.

This rail system is so antiquated it's shameful! I tried to get a train from Orlando to Ft. Laud. last year and the damn thing never came. I ended up renting a car instead. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

i tend to Amtrak between LA and SD it's a 3 hour train right and some days that's alot shorter than the 4-6 hour drive depending on traffic, though without traffic i make the drive in just under 2 hours. I can't stand their bathrooms. They're not the cleanest and they're too small. You have to make sure you have hand sanitizers with you as well. It sure is.

It's a totally feasible idea, what with the people fed up with flying and the folks who are actually afraid to fly it could be a viable option. Quite a few good jobs could be created too. Being that old Joe used to ride the rails daily I'm surprised that he hasn't been a stronger advocate for it. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

[Edited 1/9/10 15:04pm] Yeah, and at the same time every city seems to have the $$ to build new stadiums all over the place. The should take that money and partner with the federal gov't to build something that's going to benefit more than just a select few. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
