Nearly all of Africa, as its corrupt, poorly and run by bad governments, along with the rampant homophobia. The only exceptions would be South Africa and Botswana/Namibia as they are relatively stable.
Any part of Latin America except Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and then again for the same reasons, along with the fact anyone could plant something in my bag and could get into some 3rd world jail for drug muling.
The Carribean due to its homophobia especially Jamaica and any other churchy society.
Iraq and Iran for safety reasons, rest of Middle East especially Israel I would love to visit.
Most of Asia except Japan and Korea, China because of its communism and poor human and animal rights
Any country which has poor hygiene like Tibet and India
Any Francophone country that is poor like Burkina Faso and Burundi
USA as its too hard to get in to now.

All that leaves is the 1st world and a few African and South American countries along with the English speaking Pacific, Australia and Home.

I would really love to visit Canada, All of Scandinavia and Russia

I visited in Argentina in 2001 shake didn't feel safe there
My husband went again last year and is so sad about how his relatives live in fear (of muggings) sad

A country that I have seen a few negative comments about that I really want to visit is Russia.
We have been watching a nature/wildlife documentary about Russia. It is such a vast, amazingly beautiful country.

I was amazed at the deserts, forests, lakes, waterfalls and beautiful creatures that call Russia home.

rolleyes Of course not because it is a bit war torn. Stating an obvious, valid concern is one thing. But I would NEVER say the reason I'm not going to the Middle East is because ALL Mid-East countries and the people there suck and there's absolutely nothing redeeming there. That's pretty much what a lot of folks on here are saying about different places they've NEVER been to. That's some dumb and ignorat shit IMO. By that dumbass stereotyping and generalizing folks would be justified in saying that ALL black people or ALL white people are XYZ cuz they heard things or had limited experiences with them. It's just dumb.

Again, valid reasons such as war, other unrest, or political/social views is something entirely different. But to say that one can't learn or experience anything positive by visiting an ENTIRE country or continent or basing that opinion on someone else's experience is ass backwards and ignorant. There are a lot of places I have no interest in going to simply because of the types of vacations I prefer to have, that has nothing with me thinking that an entire country or region and its people are corrupt. Hell, if that's your rationale no one would go anywhere what government ISN'T corrupt?

Well I don't know about others who have posted but for myself, if a country engages in what I consider to be atrocities on a grand scale in addition to having a corrupt government (the two don't always go hand in hand) then it's not worth visiting just because there may be some good among some people. It's also about safety for me especially being female, christian, and foine. lol lol

On the real though...there are places you wouldn't be safe simply because your passport shows you're an American. The world is getting more and more fucked up and some places just aren't welcoming and accomodating no matter what your
travel preferences may be. Heck there are citizens breaking their necks to get out of such places. I think there will come a time when many people won't go anywhere and that is scary.

I agree there has been a detectable American influence in eastern Europe since the downfall of communism. I blame letting the Bolsheviks chew chewing gum for the first time as they stormed Berlin, twisted their neurons permenently. Stalin obviously didn't liquidise enough of them when they returned home, the survivors passing on tales of Coca Cola, selfism and greed. Chew chewing gum. Bad grammar but there's really no other way of putting it.

Okay you were posting to fast and didn't realize what you were saying when you typed "nearly all of Africa" and "any part of Latin America". You realise Africa and South America are continents , with 47 and 13 countries respectively, and therefore it's rather ignorant to compare the individual country with what's happening on the entire continent. And if we were to address problems in the countries you mentioned as safe to visit, then is that because there is a strong european influence? Seriously what's up?

I personally wouldn't take any chance of being in any part of the Middle East region. The percentage chance of international violence is still high.
