Very cool gig. Is it an English-language school, or do you work in Arabic?

Both nod The school is American, but I interact with the students in Arabic when I'm not working.

We've been having lows in the teens lately and I have been absolutely loving it. The colder the better. Now if we could just find a way to get rid of that damn sun in the daytime. lol

No way. Now I don't mind if it is in the 40s, I could deal with that, and most of our winters before 2008 were between the 30s and 40s, but we would sometimes get like 1 to 2 weeks between November and March that would fall into the 20s and lower teens. I remember one winter where you didn't even need boots because we really didn't get any snow. Anyway the sun makes my day. I love when the sun is shining whether it's cold or hot weather. I feel many people are more in a positive mood when the sun is shining, rather than cloudy, dreary winter days.

Then again we need the colder temperatures to get rid of some of the germs, so I guess I could appreciate the cold weather for that reason alone.

You couldn't pay me to go to Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan or Pakistan. I'm not too keen on Israel either. I told that to someone Jewish, and I think she was offended. I didn't mean to be offensive, but the unrest over there would unsettle me. Some African countries would be out, too. Plus, I'm not too keen on the food...

I definitely wouldn't want to visit any Asian country. Don't ask why, I don't know myself. I just know that Asia scares me. A lot.

We really wanted to visit Panama.. but I saw this show about some indigenous flies that burrow into your skin? eek This guy got hit with a ton of them, and some girl was pulling them out of his back. eek It was disgusting..

It's just something to think about..but really there's no country I wouldn't visit, actually.

Well... I take that back. I wouldn't want to climb Mt Everest. I read the book, Into Thin Air(??) I think that's the title. It was about this climb to Mt. Everest where a few climbers and guides didn't make it. I just don't see the "fun" in that sort of mountain climbing. But to each his own, I guess.

rolleyes Being from Panama I've only heard of such things in the jungle and have never known anyone who's ever caught anything. Panama City is very cosmopolitan and the whole country is very known for ecotourism. But keep ya ass out the jungle, in ANY country, if you don't wanna catch some shit.

Over here they keep airing this show called "Bite Me", or something like that. The crazy guy goes all over dangerous places and lets things bite him.
He spends a lot of time in Australia.
I will invite him to come here and let my Australian Cattle Dog bite him. lol

That man is inane.
nuts

that's so silly rolleyes

I haven't seen a living snake since I was a kid, though I have seen a dead one back in 2003 flat on the road.

I have seen a redback spider in the weeds along our fenceline once, but we usually whippersnip all that back all the time, so no fear.

no other danger that I can think of, apart from drunken aussies who have it in for people from India

12 yeas ago when we first moved into our home Wires removed 3 red belly black snakes from the back yard, so every thing i've come across since then seems mundane. i can handle anything but snakes! confused

+ I'd be reluctant to visit Asia and the Middle East (especially with the way I dress!)

Every place has something that appeals to me, but many have huge drawbacks, like, say long plane rides to get there.

India & China--crowds
certain parts of Mexico--pollution & crime
Iraq & Afganistan--war, though I would actually love to go there

and food would be an issue for me in lots of places

1. Every country in the Middle East (especially Iraq AND Iran) --> The reasons are very obvious.

2. China --> Freedom of speech is non-existence. Also, their laws are too strict.

EVERY
country in middle east? I have been to Jordan, Syria and Lebenon, and they were great. The people in Syria were amazingly open and friendly.

I'd avoid Iraq for sure, although I am planning to goto Iran later this year. I want to see things first hand for myself.

Nearly all of Africa, as its corrupt, poorly and run by bad governments, along with the rampant homophobia. The only exceptions would be South Africa and Botswana/Namibia as they are relatively stable.
Any part of Latin America except Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and then again for the same reasons, along with the fact anyone could plant something in my bag and could get into some 3rd world jail for drug muling.
The Carribean due to its homophobia especially Jamaica and any other churchy society.
Iraq and Iran for safety reasons, rest of Middle East especially Israel I would love to visit.
Most of Asia except Japan and Korea, China because of its communism and poor human and animal rights
Any country which has poor hygiene like Tibet and India
Any Francophone country that is poor like Burkina Faso and Burundi
USA as its too hard to get in to now.

All that leaves is the 1st world and a few African and South American countries along with the English speaking Pacific, Australia and Home.

I would really love to visit Canada, All of Scandinavia and Russia
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

It's still not safe in those countries, there have been attacks in those countries and more than likely more attacks in the future.
