Which countries would you never dream of visiting and why?

I love to travel, but I can't get my hubby to go with me to certain countries on vacation. He seems to have an unbased, negative stigma of them. He only wants to vacation in Europe and America and no where else. Help!

Not sure I can even think of one I would never go to. Even Uzbekistan must be interesting. I did think I'd never go to Myanmar (Burma) but I just went for a few weeks and it was interesting (also easier than I thought to not give much to the government, and to give most to local people).

I wouldn't go to a lot of the Middle Eastern countries for obvious reasons. It's a shame too because there's so much history there and the women are beautiful.

So go by yourself or with a friend. Nothing wrong with travelling without your significant other if you want to and he won't. Make sure you take lots of excellent pictures to let him know what he allowed himself to miss out on. thumbs up!

I do not care to travel to the southern parts of the US other than that, I would love to travel anywhere in the world.
I love to travel and learn new cultures, I lived in the south of the US, not much to learn from that culture.

This thread makes me think of another question, where would you love to visit but never live?

I would love to visit Australia but I do not think I would like to live there, too many bugs, snakes and other creepy crawlies.

I can relate. When I'm on my regular med I shouldn't even log on. Plus it makes me Barry White sounding and zombiesh. lol

Anyway, there's not too many places I don't wanna visit. The world can be beautiful.

But right now probably any country that is in a state of war, where you constantly have to watch out I can't deal with that.

I have no desire to visit Iceland.

I'm done with Africa, done. I've gotten tried of the assorted skims to extort money from tourist, especially Americans. My husband wasn't all that keen on traveling when we first met, hence I left him at home and traveled on my own. He since has had changed his mind; if he didn't wanna go somewhere, fine, bye. smile

i want to see my own country before i venture further into the big, wide world.

I am the same way in the heat. I guess that is why I was a bit apprehensive about going to the Maldives for our honeymoon, I am glad that I went.
It was stunning and snorkeling in the water helped keep me cool.
I would go back to Sri Lanka or the Maldives in a heart beat but I think we are headed to Ireland next.

There are lots of places I don't want to travel to because of how they treat women. Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, etc. I think I'd only go if I could help in some way.
