I don't decorate. It's just me in my house anyway. I promise myself every year that I'm going to get a tree.

I didn't this year as my littlest kitty is a terror and would have destroyed it all. I'm hoping she'll be calmed down by next year.

I love getting trees that go up to the ceiling, but they can be a real bitch to take out by myself.
This year I got creative and Sawzall'ed the thing in half. Much better! woot!

I'm slowly getting things put away now. We left the tree up for Rastafarian Christmas yesterday. All the smaller decorations are going away but the tree stays put until the baby comes home and we get some pictures. He was supposed to be here for Christmas. sigh

Our outdoor decorations are still up--well the lights and some gigantic ornaments we have to climb a tree to fetch down! LOL In fact, or tree is still up, but at least we got the decorations off it..

We're going to take care of it this weekend or... at least we'll start! lol

We just didn't want to last weekend. In fact, we still turned-on our Christmas lights Sunday night--but so did all of our neighbors. So we aren't the only ones in the neighborhood a little behind.

Usually I leave them up til 12 days after Christmas but I got fed up of all the bloody dust, so I took them all down last weekend. A lot of my friends took theirs down by the 29th, but they were the same fuckin idiots who put them up half way through November rolleyes
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

You know what? We didn't get ours up until like a week before Christmas. We were so busy over Thanksgiving. One of our relatives died, and that very weekend, our oldest dog had a stroke, and we had to put him down...

So we were late in getting them up. We usually like to put them up the weekend after Thanksgiving, so we can enjoy them for a little while.

I took down all the nutcrackers today. I doubt I'll ever stop putting trees up, but I'm definitely noticing a trend. I downsize/simplify a bit more each year.

Yeah I don't see much point as I also leave my residence during Christmas Eve and don't return until the 27th at the earliest.

This is the first year I brought out a short tree before the holidays.
BUT I never decorated it, and I didn't put it away either. lol

Keep it up all year. You're going to have to put it up again in about 11 months. I feel the same way about making my bed each morning....

This year I WILL GET A TREE!

If anyone still cares about seeing holiday pix in mid-January, here's my black tree that I photographed with my cell phone right before I took it down last weekend. sad

The base of the star broke off when it was shipped to me so I just sat the thing on top of the tree without the base. It really needs to be seen at night to get the full effect, but my phone takes sucky pictures at night. I need a real camera. neutral

About a week before Christmas, my tree gave up on life. It stopped drinking water and by last weekend when we finally took it down, it was brittle and brownish.

When I moved it outside, I left a thick layer of pine needles behind me. Thank goodness we don't have carpeting!!!
