I need help with my facebook account. Since the privacy changes I've been getting a lot of unwanted attention on my facebook account from people I would rather avoid. I don't know what they messed with it to begin with.

I originally had my account set on private so only my friends can see my account. So if anybody ever clicked on one of my friends account to check their friends, My picture wouldn't come up. I was virtually invisable. I liked it that way because I didn't want everyone of my friend's friends contacting me.

So my question is: How can I make my profile private so only my friends can see me, and I'm not visable on their friend list?

If I were in my early twenties it wouldn't be a big deal. But in my thirties and being in the business world, you have to be careful would you publically associated yourself with. I've facebooked couple of college classmates but I don't want everyone from college contacting me. I have some past classmates with drug problems,etc,etc that I don't want to be bothered with.

You sometimes outgrow your friends when you get older and you want to move on. Sometimes your friends never seem to grow up and keep doing shit they did in their teens and twenties. I don't want to be rude and decline friend requests or be confrontational. I would just rather avoid the drama if you know what i mean. If my profile were more private it would be so much easier.

I think that the only way to do that is to make it that so only your friends can search for you. I hate the changes they've made on there

I've been tinkering with the stuff too. I now have former students who want to befriend me.
I had to create a seperate account and use it as my 'official' account, while the one I normally use is for the buttsex and nastiness. It's like juggling.

And the security settings keep changing, and have loopholes. I've finally taken the stance that if there's something I really don't want folks seeing or reading, that I just wont post it.

There are lots of new privacy options that you can choose from. There was an announcement about it a while ago.
