Sylvester Stallone breaks neck

Movie action hero Sylvester Stallone broke his neck while filming a fight scene during his new film The Expendables.

The star revealed to FHM magazine he suffered a hairline fracture and needed to have a metal plate inserted in his neck after a "vicious" fight between him and wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin in the movie, which also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and British actor Jason Statham.

"Man, it was seven guys, kicking each other's ass, one guy tougher than the next. No joke, our stunt guys were begging for mercy," Stallone said.

"Actually, my fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I'm not joking. I haven't told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards.

"I now have a metal plate in my neck."

The Expendables follows a secret team of special military operatives who work together to overthrow a dictator in South America. It is due for release in the middle of 2010.

Can't wait for this straight to dvd release at blockbusters.

that's actually quite scary. a broken neck is no joke.

Man wrestlers are in decent shape physically overall but ever since I'm ten years old and know it's scripted I don't really care anymore. It's like episodes of the A-Team. Though Mr.T remains the man.

Nobody made an action movie like Stallone did back in the day. No muddying it up with relationships and dilemmas. Black and White. Badass vs. Everyone!

I am excited for this movie. Let's see some hardcore, nitty gritty, explosions, fist fights, blood and sweat. Enough with the sterilized CG. Go Stallone Go!

LOL, I used to love wrasslin but can't get into it any more. I watched Monday though both TNA and WWE cause of the returning faces. But I just laughed basically the whole way through. Scott Hall's fat ass, Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals hugging, lol.
