Anyone's attempted suicide is a sad thing to be sure, and by almost all accounts Artie Lange was an unpleasant individual. Hope he comes out of this a little better than he apparently was beforehand.

It's amazing the loving way he speaks of his mother and then to do this without regard to how it would hurt her. I hope he finds the peace he so desperately needs.

Okay, you got me. I can't reference anything off the top of my head other than an RS profile I remember reading earlier this year and it didn't paint a very flattering picture. Not just the drug use, but behavior that just seemed a lot over the top and kinda jerkish.

Yes, Artie's behavior can be over-the-top and jerkish, but whose can't? On the whole, he's an incredibly kind, sensitive, warm-hearted man with a lightning-fast wit. We need more like him (without the drug addiction, of course).

I've never seen it, but it's somewhere in my Netflix queue. It'll come eventually. I've just heard it's pretty bad. I gotta say, I tried to sit through It's the Whiskey Talking, but I couldn't do it. I love Artie on Howard's show, but I don't think he's funny outside of that context. But on the show, he's goddamn hilarious.

I've watched Beer League and Dirty Work in the past few months and though very low-brow and sloppily acted, that's part of their charm. I need some mindless entertainment once in a while.
