She was pretty smoking hot at one point
Actually she was really good in the one movie she did with Richad Burton, not Cleopatra, but the one where they played a miserable couple and she was drunk. My Legacy

Even though I love her though, I really wish that she would have taken better care of herself and aged better.

She's actually aged quite well and had health issues all her life. I don't think it's so much from not taking care of herself. She's outlived most of her contemporaries so she didn't do so bad.

It took me a while to get into her. I read a huge biography about her in 2001 or so, by C. David Heymann. That damn book was like 526 pages. But it was interesting to read something a bit more truthful about her than the usual gossip, divorce jokes, or whatever. She's had quite a life. I've not seen all of her movies, but I did see, and LOVED, Suddenly Last Summer with Katharine Hepburn, and Montgomery Clift. What a creepy but awesome movie! I never saw Butterfield 8, which she hated, but won an Oscar or something for. I've seen huge chunks of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, but never all the way through.
Her violet eyes definitely got her some work early on.
