Org Moms, answer me this . . .

What would you say if your 20 year old son told you he was "dating" a 40 year old woman? hmmm

Over the last week, several of my girlfriends aged 37-42 have told me they are seeing dudes that are 12-20 years younger than themselves. In all these instances, the guys pursued them. I, myself, picked up yet another 20-something year old last week to add to my collection of hot youngstas. What is really going on lately??? Is this shit an epidemic or something? And what do you mothers think about your baby boys chasing women your own age?

The same things I would say if he told me he was dating a 20 year old. Probably with a bit more cynical interest, if I'm being honest, but I'd want to know the same things: is it a healthy relationship? Are they good to each other? Tell me about her as a person.
It's what you make it.

Oh man, I dunno. Part of me would think he's entitled to do what he wants and another part of me would think it's fucking weird...gross even. lol

hmmm As a grown woman yourself, wouldn't you be concerned that he's bitten off more than he can chew, especially if he's pursuing a "relationship"? Or, would you be bothered if he told you it's a strictly physical relationship (are kids that frank with their parents tho?) Would you view her as possibly just making sport out of your baby?

" when can I meet her " would be my 1st gut reaction/question

Then I would have some questions that would float in to ask her at the meeting ...

after meeting her and trusing my intuition --- I am certain more questions may rise to ask my son

Last nite, I met a 41 year old friend for drinks and she was telling me about this 21 year old that she brought home with her and how she jerked him off. And I was so weirded out. shake

Then I mentioned that in a few years her son and I would be the same ages she and this dude are now, how would you feel if I went out with him???

I know it's a double standard and that men have been doing this shit for ages, but somehow I expect more from women and mothers, specifically. I dunno.

I can see that. But in the case of my friends, none, except for 1, are dating or living with these dudes. From their end, it's just a fuck thang. For me, I ain't fucking none of mines, but I like looking at something young and pretty e'ry now and then. lol

Every person I have been interested in or has been interested in me in any form for the last 10 years has been younger than me. Two of them have been at least 10 years younger.

I don't care who my son dates. He's 22. I would know she's not going after him for his money cuz he ain't got shit. shrug

Pretty much. And at that point, my daughter would be an adult and I would stay out of her business, unless he was mistreating her in some way.

I've always dated older dudes, 7-15 years older than me since junior high. But in the last 5 years I haven't seen anyone older. I don't approach men at all and I've noticed that those coming on to me are getting progressively younger. The 23 year old is latest in a string of youngins. A few years ago there was a 21 year old who was on a serious mission.

I see dudes out here in Cali always trying to get with career women, hence my theory of Goldigga-ness. Female friends of ours are always recounting stories of how they get hit on in the club and get asked odd questions like, "What kind of car do you drive?" or "Do you own or rent?"

now if that ain't diggin' HARD then I don't know...

It doesn't IMO. That's always been common. It's still gross but very accepted and doesn't raise an eyebrow.
