I want to see it. But why didn't they mention Brittany Murphy was in this? Or Jet Li??? "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack | |

Wesley Snipes was offered the role of Hale Ceasar but couldn't accept because, due to his tax problems, he wasn't allowed to leave the United States without the courts approval. The role was taken by Forest Whitaker and rewritten for Whitaker, but he was forced to leave the film due to a scheduling conflict. When it was announced that rapper 50 Cent was replacing Whitaker, many fans were disappointed and, after a few days, Stallone decided to cast former NFL player Terry Crews in the part.

The star revealed to FHM magazine he suffered a hairline fracture and needed to have a metal plate inserted in his neck after a "vicious" fight between him and wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin in the movie, which also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and British actor Jason Statham. If Sylvester Stallone hunting down all of these action stars, past and present, including Jet Li, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture to star in his upcoming action film The Expendables wasn’t enough, it appears that he had interest in bringing Jean-Claude Van Damme on-board as well. However, in an interview with TotalFilm Van Damme revealed that he has turned down a starring role in the film because he says that Stallone was only interested in "pitching money and action." Here’s what he had to say: "Stallone gave me a part in his next movie, he [Van Damme] told us. "But I ask him about the subject, about the story." "He said, ‘You’re gonna make lots of money.’ I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear what was my character. He was unable to tell what it’s going to be." "[Stallone said:] ‘You know, uh, well, the fighting will be good.’ [So I said:] ‘Sly, what is my character?’ So I didn’t do the movie."
