THE GOLDEN GIRLS - MY OBSESSION (favorite episodes, one liners, etc) Alright.. so I know that most people in this day in age are hooked to reality shows, 24hr cable news, talk shows, etc. on the tube. However, for me, it's the GIRLS. 7 Seasons of one of the best written sitcoms to ever exist! In my humble opinion. I can't imagine my life without those golden GALS. I am 30 and I still remember watching the original NBC lineup on Friday nights. Fond memories of being young and laughing at very mature topics way beyond my comprehension. I waited years for it to be released on DVD, and now they are the most cherished and overplayed one's I own. Share your favorite moments with BLANCHE, SOPHIA, DOROTHY, AND ROSE.. and those one liners and glares that only they could deliver [Edited 12/21/09 2:28am]

My fondest memory of the show:
Back in 1999, my sister and I went to Disney World for my birthday (August). For a week, we'd get up every morning early, go to one of the Parks, then come back to our resort and eat lunch at the height of the heat. "Golden Girls" ran on just about every channel on the Disney Compound, so we'd hang out and watch it all afternoon (I hadn't watched it at home). When it cooled off, we'd shower and go back out to another park and have dinner. At night, more "Golden Girls" till bed... When I got back to NJ, I was hooked! I love when Dorothy makes wisecracks that go over Rose's head! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Blanch has always been my fav. she does not deny her lust for life. i imagine her character made it ok for many women over 50 to embrace their sexiness and feel good about their age in a society that clings to the "youthfulness syndrome." [Edited 12/21/09 9:32am] Live life as though each moment is as precious & beautiful as a rainbow after a spring rain. b positive, creative, kind, productive, resourceful & respectful of humankind, & feel free 2 know that U-R-A . i can feel it when u shine on me

I can honestly say I can't pick a favorite because I have a different one depending on the episode.
Some of my favorite moments/lines: "Jealousy is an very ugly thing, Dorothy. And so are you in anything backless." -Sofia "Well isn't Danny Thomas one?" "Lesbian...lesbian....LESSSSSBIan!" -Blanche when one of their friends developed a crush on Rose "Share with me Lester, SHaaare with me." -Blanche from the Save the Lighthouse episode "I'm nobody's baby anymore." -Blanche when Big Daddy dies. LAWWWWWD I still relate and weep at this line. "But I bet you'll lay down for it!" -Dorothy in response to Blanche saying she would not stand for being mocked. Whenever Sofia was about to say something rude or dirty and Dorothy would throw her hands up and shout "MAAAAA!!!!" to stop her. Rose's "crazy eyes" when she would try to figure something out. Dorothy's one liners at Stan. When they got arrested for being hookers. "I'll be damned, the black guy's prejudiced!" -Sofia wearing shades (lost her glasses) talking about Blanche in the Daughters of Confederacy episode. There's really too many moments/lines to count. I don't think there was a single bad show in that entire series. [Edited 12/21/09 7:43am] is it bad that i didn't have to google anything? [Edited 12/21/09 7:44am]

My favorite episode is when Dorothy's brother Phil died and his wife buried him at a teddy. It was hilarious when the minister walked up and looked into the casket. Andy is a four letter word.

That episode also has a great moment: "What he was, Sofia...was a great man."

When they got arrested for being hookers. I love the early part of that episode when the girls find out they are going to meet Burt Reynolds and they are jumping up and down hollering.... Ohhhh, ooooh, ooooohhhhh!!! Then the exterminater walks in right at that very moment and thinks they are jumping up and down hot with lust for him. Andy is a four letter word.

I had the quote about Blanche's sister writing that book about her sex life in my xbox bio. They gave me a temporary ban. That said it violated the rules.
Dorothy: 'd kill Gloria if she wrote a book about my sex life Sophia: You'd kill your sister over a pamphlet?! Dorothy: Shut up Ma! My favorite episode is probably when they went on vacation and left Sophia alone at the house. They got stuck having to share a bathroom with those younger men. One of them called Dorothy "Grandma Moses" LOL Another good one was when they went to see that counselor: Blanche: Rose is a bimbo. Counselor: Rose, how do you feel about Blanche calling you that? Rose: I think she's a gakögernöken. Counselor: What does that mean? Rose: Well, it used to be the term for the precise second that dog doo turns white, but now it mainly stands for rude. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I always loved when Rose would say something stupid then Dorothy would ask Rose to pass her the paper, then Dororthy would hit her with it.

I forgot which episode it was, but when Dorothy kept screaming about condoms in the general store, I lost my marbles.
"Condoms, Rose. CONDOMS CONDOMS CONDOMS!!!" And then the store clerk is all "Calm down, lady! Did you just get outta jail or sumpthin'?" Or anytime Rose has a story about St. Olaf. It's always about livestock, some really dumb person, or somebody dying a strange and terrible death. What brought it home, though, was Sofia. Her sass made me laugh until I turned purple.
