Last night I get a call from a stranger. He asks me- "Is your boyfriend driving your car?"

Confused I said-"No"
The stranger goes on to tell me that he was involved in a car accident with my EX! And my EX told him it was my car and he was borrowing it. (the same idiot ex from this thread http://prince.org/msg/100/325803)

The car isnt mine! That ass gave this man my name and number and flat out lied to him!!! He probably doesn't have insurance and he did it to cover his butt.

The guy says- "I hope you're telling the truth. The police will be investigating this." Please do investigate and leave me alone.

Well, obviously they will find out soon enough that it's not your car so you really don't have to worry about that.

But, your ex...I dunno....kinda freaky. Should you maybe report to the police that this dude is making a false claim against you? can you even do that?

Im not sure if I can make a report to the police. I would if possible.

It's almost like a hit-and-run being that he's deferring blame elsewhere and trying to slip under the radar.

I called the police dept. He really couldn't help me. I don't know which area the accident was in. He told me to find out which area the accident happened because there's 7 precincts here and he needs to know which precinct will handle it.

The other guy has certainly filed some kind of claim with his Insurance company now. There's got to be some additional info there you can give the police.

And don't take no for an answer from the police. Tell them you wish to file a complaint against your ex for providing false information. They'll find him.

If the other party filed a report, you can be sure the police now have your info in a report.

I would call the police and tell them what has been happening with the ex, and that you want to make an "intimidation report" or some sort of harassment report, and that you think this whole thing is another way he is trying to get to you. That way if he calls, if there is another incident, if he comes on your property, the cops can arrest him.

Find out if you have grounds for a restraining order just in case you need to consider that.

or maybe there was no accident at all and this clown is just fucking with you.
