I think long straight hair can get boring after a while. I would mix it up with shaggy layers like that:  Hey Charlotte...passing through and hope you don't mind an newbie's suggestion. Why not have a version of this layered look with fringe at the length your hair is now? If you like it, let it grow longer and keep the style while getting it trimmed every so often to promote faster growth. I think you look nice with fringe, btw. See how the haircut curves toward the neck at the shoulders? Maybe that would be a good length with that style (if YOU like it) that would allow you to pull your hair back in your ponytail.
