I can remember being on here WAY too much, but not being able to tear myself away because of the people here. The .org has brought me so much laughter, which is why now, eventhough it is not the same, I'm still here.

I remember when nobody ever flamed anybody, when all the moderators were amazing but didn't need to snip or lock anything, and when every post by every single person on the site was so funny it brought me to tears. Those were the days. touched

Yes, there were. I kept one around as an alter account, StankPussay319, just for when I wanted to be obnoxious. No wait, noxious.

i hate facebook.

i stopped signing in. people from my childhood are trying to befriend my new york name's page. people i have never even met are trying to friend me. i hate facebook.

i havent signed into facebook in so long that a friend called the other day and said "facebook told me it's worried about you."

naturally, i was curious.

he said facebook sent him an email encouraging him to talk to me on facebook because i hadn't signed in in a while.

i told him facebook is like the orwellian big brother if big brother was like an annoying brother who sends you tons of forwarded crap e-mail.
[Edited 12/29/09 18:41pm]

Ahhhhh...now I know why you ignored my Facebook friendship request. lol
But I agree with you...even though I like Facebook for several good reasons, it can also get a bit on ones nerves when people cause a big scene because of Facebook (like " Why did you ignore my request?" " Why haven´t you replied to my comment on your wall?" "Why don´t you update your status?" )

I get those kind of messages every now and then, especially from Facebook addicts who seem to be there 24/7, even posting from their fucking cellphones. And just like you, I ignore a lot of requests simply because I have never, ever, exchanged any thoughts, orgnotes, etc. with them, and some I didn´t even talk to 15 years ago, so why do they expect me to add them to my socalled "friends" list now?

But Facebook has its advantages, too. Like chatting with Vendetta1, meeting old friends, staying in touch with people abroad or in distant cities, or orgers that I don´t see here anymore, like Applekisses etc.
I guess it all depends on what you make of it.

PS: There surely is a decline in quality threads here but I don´t really expect the General Discussions forum to be funny all the time, and I never found most of the people you mentioned really funny to begin with, except for Anxiety´s dry humor and wit.
I miss JustinUK1972 around here....and he wasn´t really funny funny, but I really miss his presence.
Never really understood this whole Althom insider thing though....not that I don´t like him, I just didn´t really get what all the hoopla was about.

apples!

i miss her tons. pout

althom was great as a comedy straight man. he knew how to set up jokes perfectly, and yet cound zing some hilarious one-liners. and the stories of his daughter were just wonderful.

i miss the robot.

actually, hairy bear has my vote for thread of the year.

Senik was the man. Anyone know what happened to these guys?

Dewrede still is the man cool

I remember others too like The Frog, and danielboon (got an orgnote from him not long ago)

I've been back a fair bit more recently, stopped coming on regularly for years but its not as much fun

Still some great people here though

endorphin74 is one of my best friends (from way back, pre-org). He and anxiety live happily together a few blocks down from me in Minneapolis. He's still a huge anglophile. I'll tell him you were asking about him. smile
